We drove (or more correctly I drove) around the West Country as I was very pregnant and was not allowed to fly.

We went to dubrovnik in Croatia, lovely place, warm friendly people, great food, great hotel. Would recommend to any one! We went 3 years ago and it wasnt really popular to go so this made it more exclusive. We didnt see one English person-brill time!

Egypt. Red sea is probably best for honeymoon. Sharm el Sheikh/Hurghada etc..

weesagirl, we got married when dd was 15 months and she came with us (of course). We got married in Poole, spent the nights before and after the wedding in the Highcliff at Bournemouth. Then got the ferry from Poole to Cherbourg (Commodore class cabin). Drove to Deauville and stayed in the Normandy for a week. It was May the sun came out very hot and so we spent week on the Normandy's private beach during the day.

Sandals resort in St. Lucia for three weeks April/May - cost as much as the wedding - amazing and the most beautful scenery....!!

roosmum · 15/06/2005 19:28

cook islands, with a stopover in LA - all kept a strict secret from all (inc. me) until heathrow!
most beautiful place in the world i reckon & wd LOVE to go back one day (wistful emoticon).

aloha · 15/06/2005 19:45

Italy - Rome, Liguria, Portofino - lovely and not too hot in July IMO

LizP · 15/06/2005 19:49

Bora Bora and Moorea with a stop-over in LA for a business trip for dh (he went out a few days before me). Decided when I was about 10 I would go to Bora Bora on my honeymoon after being a "tales of the brass monkey" fan.

Got married fairly young and definitely penniless but managed to get to Cornwall and stay in 'The Gatekeeper's Cottage' on D.H.Laurences old estate - very romantic it was too.

ych · 15/06/2005 20:35

3 nights New York, which was very hot in June, saw all the big sights, very busy 3 days then 12 nights relaxing at an all inclusive in the Bahamas - bliss.

A week in Honolulu and a week in Maui - bliss - although I detest long-haul flights. Maui was better as Honolulu was a bit too crowded and commercialised.

AussieSim · 16/06/2005 01:16

1 week on Turtle Island , Fiji which was absolutely divine and decadent and 1 week at Noosa which is a beachside location in Queensland Australia. Very active outdoor experience with lots of golf playing. Those were the days .

We went to Seattle and then on a ten day cruise around Alaska, which stopped off in Canada too.(Princess cruises). It was fantastic. We had a suite with a secluded balcony and were treated superbly.

We got married in Greece just before the honeymoon therefore wanted somewhere a bit cooler. As it happens the weather in seattle and Alaska was fantastic too.

Whatever you choose i am sure it will be memorable. A honeymoon is about spending time together and alone. You could go absolutley
anywhere.

ENJOY IT. x
