Just being nosy really.

I haven't even started to think about ours yet and probably will wait and see what sort of summer we are in for and do it all last minute.

BUT can you tell me if you have booked yours yet?
Are you going abroad?
Rough sort of budget for your main summer hols with the DCs?

Not booked yet but are probably returning to the lovely child-friendly resort we went to last year in Spain. Will self-cater and budget for about £1000 for a week's hols for two adults and DD.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 13/02/2009 12:23

Off to Germnany next month for a qick visit to see DS's Godfather £29.02 return on the ferry, bargain.

need to book flights to Belfast for July.

TheThoughtPolice · 13/02/2009 12:24

We're not going anywhere this year . We're having a frugal 12mo.

bellavita · 13/02/2009 12:29

Las Vegas.

saggyhairyarse · 13/02/2009 12:36

We've booked which is organised for us! We are flying to Venice and then camping with Eurocamp at Ca'Savio, Jesolo de Lido. It was £1250 for 2 weeks for 5 of us but we are under canvas

We will probably have a few days camping in the May school holidays near Tenby and maybe a long weekend if we can afford it.

geogteach · 13/02/2009 12:52

Off to South Africa this afternoon. First long haul flight with 3 kids, we are going for DH 40th, this will be our main hol, probably camp somewhere in the summer.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 13/02/2009 13:03

Camping this summer - £175 for the week in Devon.

Am hoping to get a last minute deal to TeneriFe in Sept/Oct.

gingerteam · 13/02/2009 13:04

Centre Parcs in the summer then hopefully somewhere hot in the October break if the budget stretches to it. Flights and accomodation are way more expensive than last year and because we want a 2 bed apt in a nice hotel we will have to wait to see if Euro improves.

MrsMattie · 13/02/2009 13:07

We're going to Portugal in June - have booked flights and hotel outside Lisbon for first few nights, but are hiring a car and driving down to the Algarve, so need to book an apartment down there a.s.a.p!

August - me and DH and the baby are going to NYC for a wedding. DS is staying here and going to Brighton with grandparents.

Christmas - we're going to spend it with the ILs in Florida. Not booked yet, though.

geogteach - have a fab time in SA!

gingerteam · 13/02/2009 13:08

How organised must you be geogteach to be on Mumsnet hours before a long haul flight with 3 kids! I am impressed.
Hope you have a great time.

kettlechip · 13/02/2009 13:10

Center Parcs next month for midweek break, £500 for executive lodge for 4, and then Brittany in June for 2 weeks with Eurocamp. 3 bed premier caravan thing with decking and premium pitch for about £1300 for 4 of us inc ferry crossing. Lots of us going so it's a bargain - hope weather is ok though..
Last holiday before ds1 starts school so making the most of going off peak.

Tillyscoutsmum · 13/02/2009 13:14

Three week long holidays booked so far for this year

Cottage in Devon in June (about £1,000)

Cottage in Cornwall in school hols (about £1500 I think)

Cottage in North Wales in September (freebie borrowing from friends)

Just hope we get some decent UK weather for once !

NorbertDentressangle · 13/02/2009 13:37

We're off to Cornwall at Easter (near Bude).

Not sure about the summer yet -the pound/Euro situation means we're unlikely to be abroad which is a shame as I'd love to go back to the place we went to last year (in Portugal)

kslatts · 13/02/2009 14:55

We are going to Wales for a week in the easter holidays which is booked, £300 in a caravan.

Going to Ireland for a weekend in July for MIL's 60th, not booked yet, but only need to pay for flights.

Hoping to go abroad in the summer, haven't decided where yet, probably book last minute as bit concerned about the euro rate, might decide to stay in the UK or go out of the euro zone.

Docbunches · 13/02/2009 14:58

A week in Cornwall in the summer hols for us as DP doesn't like flying, ferries or trains due to anxiety.

I'm hoping for better weather than we had last August when it rained for 6 days out of 7!

jumpyjan · 13/02/2009 15:02

Bosinver in Cornwall in September - so excitied - can't wait!

castille · 13/02/2009 15:13

Just booked a fortnight in the Ardeche in July then we'll have a week at the in-laws' place in S Brittany in August.

MrsGrahamBell · 13/02/2009 15:21

I second what Ginger said about geogteach!

MaplePecanPlait · 13/02/2009 17:58

Oooh - some really lovely holidays coming up then?

I just wanted to know so I could get some inspiration for ours. Think we may stay in the UK and would love a sunny beach holiday on the South Coast in a gorgeous cottage.

MaplePecanPlait · 13/02/2009 17:59

For those of you who go to France - do you drive and ferry it or fly?

OP posts:
Leslaki · 13/02/2009 18:07

here for 2 weeks in August - about £1200 for the fortnight. fab place - went last year and can't wait to go back!

MaplePecanPlait · 13/02/2009 18:18

Leslaki, your place looks fab!
Will you camp there?

OP posts:
Kiwinyc · 13/02/2009 18:20

Mid-week break at May half-term at a Featherdown Farm then 2 wks in Austria where the hills are aliiiiive - with Esprit in Aug.

Leslaki · 13/02/2009 18:27

MaplePecanPlait - it is fab!! So good for the DCs, it took us a long time to actually get off site away from the pool n beach and actually go to Venice!!! We don't camp as in a tent but stay in a mobile home! You could get it cheaper than what I've paid but I used tesco vouchers so it was actually FREE!!! Definately recommend it!
