Just being nosy really.

I haven't even started to think about ours yet and probably will wait and see what sort of summer we are in for and do it all last minute.

BUT can you tell me if you have booked yours yet?
Are you going abroad?
Rough sort of budget for your main summer hols with the DCs?

hoping to go somewhere for a few days over Easter, then sharing a big house in the lakes in May with my parents and siblings, then 2 weeks here end July/early Aug then probably camping for a week or so, depending on weather

MaplePecanPlait · 13/02/2009 18:36

Kiwi, Feather down Farms look so lovely too. What a fab idea! they look so rustic and simple.

Only drawback is that we are farmers and already live on a farm.....

MrsPurple · 13/02/2009 18:50

just been to center parcs, weekend in Bristol feb.

off to South of France at Whitsun and Camping in UK in Summer.

Any suggestions for good sites wihin 2 hours of Chester?

selby · 13/02/2009 18:50

Easter - New York for DH's 40th - no kids! Flights & hotel booked.
Summer half term - 1 week Italy. Ryanair flights booked & hoping to bag a late deal on accommodation. Decided to risk this since there seems to be availability this year even for peak travel no doubt due to the credit crunch.
Aug - 1 week SW France (not booked so subject to change of mind)
Sept - Long weekend in the Italian Lakes for a close friend's wedding.

Leslaki · 13/02/2009 18:51

Maple - we're flying with British Midland but youcan go with Easyjet etc. best to fly into Marco Polo as you can get the bus (coach and friendly drivers help with luggage!!!!) direct ti campsite. Site satff then take you on a golf buggy to your accom!!! DCs thought it was great!

Ruthiebabes · 13/02/2009 19:33

Leslaki.. does the £1200 include the flights and accommodation? It looks lovley, did you eat in much or go to the restaurants??

compo · 13/02/2009 19:36

cottage in Wales in July, can't wait

ChasingSquirrels · 13/02/2009 19:43

May - Cornwall bosinver, for the week before half-term. Booked. Think it was £590 for the cottage, plus fuel to get there and spends there.

Late July - 2 days in a Travelodge north of B'ham, me and my 2 boys and a friend and her 3 children. Just going to have a couple of days out. Booked. Cheap - £19 per night for the rooms. But will have to eat out and then couple of days out. Am going to use tesco deals so will cut the cost.

Late August - probably 10 days abroard, maybe Spain. Not booked. Last year was about £300/400 for the apartment, plus flights (easyjet) and spends there.

babyOcho · 13/02/2009 19:44

March - 10 nights in the Maldives.

tattycoram · 13/02/2009 20:07

Chasingsquirrels, how do you go about finding an apartment abroad from here? I'm a bit lost with that sort of thing as pre-DS we just used to turn up and find something, but I wouldn't want to do that peak season?

Bosinver looks amazing btw

ChasingSquirrels · 13/02/2009 20:19

we have used either "owners direct" or "holiday rentals" for the last few years, large range of properties, all owned by individuals, the sites are just and advertising forum. You book and pay direct with the owner, so no actual security, but we have never had any problems.

ladymariner · 13/02/2009 20:30

Dominican Republic in July - verrreeee excited

babypringle · 13/02/2009 20:31

Bosinver in July - hoping that it is as good as the reviews say!
Then maybe something at October half term but it will be a last minute booking.

popsycal · 13/02/2009 20:35

probably nowhere again!

However, I do have tesco vouchers but have never booked a holiday with them before......only got day out vouchers.....am intrigued

FeelingLucky · 13/02/2009 21:18

France - part camping and part staying with friends and relatives.
Not booked yet.
Car hire plus ferry plus petrol and miscellaneous stuff will probably cost £1000 all in all (well, that's what we'll budget for )

PortofinosDHwillDieIfHeForgets · 13/02/2009 21:30

2 weeks July in the Dordogne with Eurocamp. Swiming pools/kids club and hopefully some nice food and culture thrown in for the grown ups.

At Easter dd (5) is going to Pirate camp on the Belgian coast for 3 days. She is very excited. We are going to Antwerp for 2 days for food, shopping and sex culture. 3 days with no baba. I am so NOT going to cope!

Depending on money we might squeeze in another week somewhere. DD loved the Landal holiday park in Germany that we to last Easter. Twas 400 euros for a week in luxury bungalow. DH didn't like the fact that everyone only spoke German though...There was a big fight.

Rachmumoftwo · 13/02/2009 21:31

We have booked all inclusive in Majorca for £2300 for 4 of us- the logic being we won't need any money while we are there. It is at the beginning of August so although I was shocked at the price, is much cheaper than many similar holidays. Just not used to paying school holday rates I suppose (hope my tax rebate comes through soon).

poshtottie · 13/02/2009 21:31

dh and I have just been to babbington house £500 one night,

Going to centre parcs next month £400 plus activities.

DS 2.5 so no travelling abroad just yet

PortofinosDHwillDieIfHeForgets · 13/02/2009 21:34

Why not Poshtottie - it's easy with one! Honest!

mosschops30 · 13/02/2009 21:36

poshtottie · 13/02/2009 21:39
