Hi all, I'm searching for a holiday with the following criteria and finding it so difficult. I hope someone has personal recommendations please! (side note - why can you not filter by room layout on all these sites!)

  • anywhere in Europe hot in September - Greece, cyprus, Turkey, Portugal, canaries
  • hotel with more than 4.5 rating on TripAdvisor and min 4 star
  • all inclusive (must have great veggie options)
  • 2 adults, one 3yo
  • less than an hour from the airport
  • must have separate sleeping area for my toddler (happy with a sofa bed but must be a sep room)
  • small slides/splash park
  • near to a sandy beach
  • £2k for 8/9 nights in Sept (or £3.4k incl flights)

I think I've looked at 50 hotels, and it's looking like what I want is around 4-5k for the holiday which seems crazy to me! Do I need to resign myself to not going or is there a hidden gem somewhere I'm missing?

Thank you!

We (2 adults 2 children) are staying at the Eix Lagotel in Majorca this summer, it has 2 bedroom apartments, we booked through Love Holidays as you can filter by room configuration. We paid 4k all inclusive inc flights for August so presumably Sept much cheaper.

ForAmusedHazelQuoter · 19/02/2026 09:42

Iberostar Club Cala Barca in Majorca is nice and has the right type of rooms.

BarnacleBeasley · 19/02/2026 09:49

We went to Tui Blue Sensatori Akra Sorgun, which I think fits your budget and does all those things. There aren't water slides as such, just a little slide in the middle of a toddler pool, but that seems ideal for a 3 year old to me. Better than more slides, actually, as you're less likely to get bigger kids dominating the toddler pool. Food was good with lots of options (disclaimer: we're not veggie, but there were loads of options including local ones and excellent salads). You can get a 2-bedroom family room, which was our main criterion too as we didn't want to be sneaking past sleeping toddlers at night.

Lytos Beach or Stella Palace both Crete have most of your requirements. Possibly over budget but if you play around with the dates it might work. Late sept or early Oct will be cheaper but still warm.

I would say the only thing is the beach is not great at either but the pool slides are amazing for kids.

Acunningruse · 19/02/2026 09:55

Stella Palace will be about 5k 🤣 theres no way OP will get a suite or 2 bed apartment there for 2k 🤣

Try the WhatsApp on Jet2 holidays. They have always found us 2 room hotel rooms, they do all boards.
We have a teenager so we all need privacy, so a proper door between the rooms and ideally a second bathroom.

MissAmbrosia · 19/02/2026 10:35

TUI magic life Calabria has family suites. Food very nice.

minniemoo10 · 19/02/2026 10:45

tui Magic life belek could work for you

ForAmusedHazelQuoter · 19/02/2026 11:07

I went there when it was a Club Med, it’s really nice.

Ftm030201 · 20/02/2026 09:33

Thank you for your replies everyone. I'm going to take a look at them all today and see if we can make it work.

Sleeping arrangements are key because 3yo has only just started sleeping well (after years of 6-8x wakes a night!), is a really light sleeper (creaky floors etc wake her), and husband is a loud snorer. When we share a space, she wakes many times - we will all be grumpy!

thank you

We went to the HD Parque Cristobal in September, it was lovely. Only me and DH, but I noticed the kids facilities and they looked great. We didnt do AI but the breakfast was amazing and other guests who were on AI said food in evening v good too. Rooms are individual chalet style with own front door and are fab. Hotel location is really good too. Right near loads of restaurants etc but as soon as you go into the hotel hrounds there is no outside noise. Beaches v nearby and a very family friendly area generally.

Louis Kerkyra Blue. Corfu. No slides but little baby pool separate to main pool. Standard family room has a sliding door partition. AI and food/drinks are great

Well I went in the pool and I never do that unless its an acceptable temperature 😄. There was a separate kids pool near the main pool, and another one in a different area, I cant comment on the temp in these but they had plenty of small kids in them! I was pleasantly surprised by Tenerife. It was definitely livelier than places we normally go to, but there was so much choice of things to do, so it could be as chilled or as manic as you wanted your holiday to be. We did a fab whale /dolphin watching boat trip from Los Christianos and loved that area too, much more laid back.

Wowzel · 20/02/2026 22:21

I think we got the Barut Goia near Side in Turkey for that sort of price with Jet2

UnderThePressure · 20/02/2026 23:00

We went to Menorca, last week of September last year.
It was plenty hot enough. We stayed in Punta Prima, at the Insotel Punta Prima. It was 35 mins ish from the airport by coach.
It's a 4* AI, two big pools, kids splash areas, indoor pool, and at most 10 mins walk to a sandy beach. Great evening entertainment. Premium alcoholic drinks, cocktails and self serve beer, sangria and soft drinks We had a 1 bed apt, for me, DH and 18 year old DD. DD had a sofa bed in the lounge. There was a little kitchenette and the bathroom had a bath and separate shower cubicle.
There are little areas in the buffet restaurants for kids to serve themselves and help yourself ice creams. It was £800 each, so a real bargain. I used to work for a well known holiday company so I've seen a lot of hotels, this one was brilliant and I can't wait to go back!

Bucketwee · 20/02/2026 23:14

Rhodes - Atlantica Aegean Blue - ticks all of your boxes ( would need to upgrade to a private transfer to guarantee a sub 1hr transfer) we had the family room with sliding door separators - perfect

Chickoletta · 20/02/2026 23:18

Holiday Village Aliathon, Cuprus. I haven’t checked prices but that sounds about right. We had some lovely holidays there when our kids were little and they do family rooms with separate kids’ sleeping areas.

I managed to price this up well, then realised it's 1hr15m from the airport. My little one gets travel sick 🤮 thank you!

I loved this and got really excited then realised the flights back to Manchester all land at midnight or 1am! I can't get decent flights with tui in the whole of Sept or beg of Oct, and can't seem to book the hotel by itself so I can find my own flights 😤

I got put off by some of the food reviews here and comments about it being cold and windy, what did you think?

We go to Menorca most Septembers, just DH and I, now but if I was going somewhere with a 3 yo it would be top of my list. The flight is only 2hrs, the island is small, the beaches are so incredibly safe, the sea is very warm and calm. You can’t go wrong with it tbh.
