Hi all, I'm searching for a holiday with the following criteria and finding it so difficult. I hope someone has personal recommendations please! (side note - why can you not filter by room layout on all these sites!)

  • anywhere in Europe hot in September - Greece, cyprus, Turkey, Portugal, canaries
  • hotel with more than 4.5 rating on TripAdvisor and min 4 star
  • all inclusive (must have great veggie options)
  • 2 adults, one 3yo
  • less than an hour from the airport
  • must have separate sleeping area for my toddler (happy with a sofa bed but must be a sep room)
  • small slides/splash park
  • near to a sandy beach
  • £2k for 8/9 nights in Sept (or £3.4k incl flights)

I think I've looked at 50 hotels, and it's looking like what I want is around 4-5k for the holiday which seems crazy to me! Do I need to resign myself to not going or is there a hidden gem somewhere I'm missing?

Thank you!

I think your budget is tight for what you want. It’s the separate room issue.

OnlyMabelInTheBuilding · 19/02/2026 07:31

Really you’re looking for a suite, the budget is too low for a 4 star+ suite.

Idleplum · 19/02/2026 07:31

We’ve stayed at a few apartment hotels in Mallorca and Majorca with jet 2 and Tui that riled most of your boxes from memory. I think they were Jet2 holidays. (Sorry my memory is horrible so I can’t recall specific destinations).

Edit to add we never spend more than about £1200pp and always get decent stays (although I couldn’t promise 5*). You don’t need a suite for a separate room.

There was a place in Cala Mallor (sp?) that was a new build apart-hotel. All inclusive with kitchenette, pools, splash pad etc. Whether it would be to the standard you want is a different question but it’s not impossible

Thedaysaregettinglongeryay · 19/02/2026 07:33

Why do you need a separate sleeping area? Is it so you can hang out in room in the evenings and not disturb the child sleeping? If so, maybe a standard room but with a balcony you could spend the evenings on would work and be cheaper than a suite?

rookiemere · 19/02/2026 07:35

Hovima Suites in Tenerife has most of that except the water slides.

gototogo · 19/02/2026 07:48

Your requirements don’t fit your budget. Your dc will get a free place as long as you get a standard room but to get a separate room (suite) you will essentially be paying for 2 people that aren’t there. I found one called Flamingo beach that almost meets your criteria, to get the two sleeping areas you will go above budget. If you can compromise on the sleeping areas I do recommend Magic life in fuerteventura, lovely beach adjacent, splash zone and multiple restaurants included in the price, we went in November a couple of years back and there were lots of toddlers. Public bus stopped outside to go on a little explore and we spent nothing actually at the hotel. You get a balcony or terrace to sit on if little one is asleep but i recommend taking a buggy for the evenings, everyone parks them up with sleeping kids, it’s what I did when mine were tiny, mind you mine slept through anything in the double buggy unfortunately not so much in their proper beds!

Look at the Atlantica Aegean Blue in Rhodes or Lindos Princess.

SiobahnRoy · 19/02/2026 07:52

Insotel cala mandia might fit the bill, or others in that group

MadameMayberry · 19/02/2026 07:56

Try TUI Blue Flamingo Beach in Lanzarote. . We’ve been there a couple of times and it was great value with good room layout.

Rhodesbride · 19/02/2026 07:57

Hi op, we liked sentido aequora lanzarote suites when my DD was little. We went in 2023 and 2024. It’s a 4* in playa de los pocillos. It had separate little room for DD, splash park, we really liked the all inclusive and was close to the beach. It had a great kids club if it’s something you want. They did a foam party for kids once a week and DD loved it. 20min transfer.
just looked and it’s just over 2k for 9 sept (I put Manchester in) /free child place for 8 nights with a junior suite on jet2 but think there is a code for £100 off.

I find canaries the cheapest option for us as a family of 3. I’m a bit bored of it as we have been canaries for past 5 years but Greece Cyprus and turkey work out much more expensive for us.

TartanMammy · 19/02/2026 07:57

It's your budget that's the issue here. We always get a separate sleeping area but we have two children. With just a 3yr old you're going to have to upgrade your room to a bigger family suite or apartment which is going to bump the cost,.many agents won't even give you the option as you'll be under occupying the room. We usually spend £3-4k for 7 ngihts.

hotels we've done that offer this...

  • landmark Costa Los Gigantes Tenerife (landi room upgrade)
  • koala gardens gran Canaria
  • abora interclub Atlantic Gran Canaria (possibly changed name)
  • Fergus club europa Majorca (Magnus room upgrade)
  • Apollo palace Corfu (upgrade)
  • stella palace (with room upgrade, pricey!)

Stick to Spain rather than Greece, Turkey etc. It should bring your budget down a bit. Plenty of apart hotels in Menorca/ Mallorca which should fit the bill

FoxglovesAndLupins · 19/02/2026 08:01

Dreams in Madeira. You can get all of your wishlist.

alicewasahorse · 19/02/2026 08:10

Holiday village in Ibiza would come in under budget and would be warm in September. Right on a beach, waterpark on site and rooms have sliding doors between sleeping areas. Short transfer from the airport

KnickerlessFlannel · 19/02/2026 08:12

Have you looked at the various titanic resorts in Turkey? We stayed at the titanic golf belek last year (through BA but uoj may be able to get a better deal as other packages flew there). We were tied to school.holidays so I don't know the prices for your times but it meets all.your other requirements

Bjorkdidit · 19/02/2026 08:12

Have you put your requirements in the search section of Jet2holidays? I think you can filter by most of those (select the TA to 4 and above and you can see which are 4.5 in the results). Sort by price low to high and work your way through. Agree with a PP that adding mainland Spain and Balearics is likely to give you some options and will still be plenty hot in September. If you find something you like, also look at whether you can find it cheaper by booking separately. In Spain at least, you can usually get a public bus to most hotel areas so don't need a transfer.

If the 2 rooms is for the evening, I'd get a place with a balcony or terrace rather than separate sleeping areas as it's much nicer to use in the evenings than sitting inside.

Have you also considered half board, assuming you won't be drinking huge amounts with a 3 YO. Much cheaper than AI and most rooms have fridges so you can get drinks and snacks from the supermarket to have on the balcony in the evenings. If you have a decent breakfast and hotel dinner, you'll likely only want a snack or ice cream in the day time rather than having to buy a proper lunch most days.

Have a look at a 2 bedroom room at Blue Lagoon Village, search for a holiday on Tui and then scroll down and upgrade the room to a 2 bedroom (I’m not sure on price as I have to book 2 older kids in term time, so you might get it in your budget) it ticks all those on your list, with the added bonus their kids club takes 3 year olds if that floats your boat too…

jasasa78263 · 19/02/2026 08:13

(It’s in Kos, make sure you select Village, not Resort)

jasasa78263 · 19/02/2026 08:18

So I just looked it up out of interest and if you were willing to go right at the end of September you could get it for £3041 (including flights) this is a 2 bedroom room, and comes with a free child place. And this is a very popular hotel (costs £6000 for a family of 4 peak season!) so I don’t think your budget is as bad as people are saying.

jasasa78263 · 19/02/2026 08:20

The price does jump up over £4000 if you want to go earlier in September though. It’s still warm in October.

Bjorkdidit · 19/02/2026 08:20

We've stayed here in Ibiza and it was lovely and would likely be under your £2k budget for HB and there's 2 supermarkets 5 mins walk away for drinks. Really nice splash park and children's pool that would be perfect for a 3 YO.

There's also a direct bus to the airport so possible to look at separately if you can get cheap flights.

rookiemere · 19/02/2026 08:23

I checked on Jet2 holidays. Of course we don’t know where you’re flying from but from our quite expensive regional airport 8 nights at the Gran Oasis in Tenerife which has everything you specified comes in at £3000 if you go mid September. Also the filter options allow you to specify room type and splash park.

We never shared a room with DS when he was young - either got 2 bed apartment or hotel with a separate living area. They seem a lot more common now than 15 years ago so I think you will find what you need.

jasasa78263 · 19/02/2026 08:25

Oh sorry just realised I was looking at 2027, it’s actually under £3000 in 2026, or not as expensive if you want to go earlier in the month.

Scorpion84 · 19/02/2026 08:33

Have a look at BQ alcudia sun village , Majorca

Butthechildrentheylovethebooks · 19/02/2026 08:48

The Avanti Village in Paphos fits all your requirements except AI.. which pp have said may be hard to find on your budget. They have apartments with separate sleeping areas, a great splash park area, lovely poolside restaurant for breakfast(can be part of your holiday) and lunch and lots of restaurants near by. The apartments have cooking facilities too. Its a lovely place. And looking briefly you can do it easily on your budget.
