We’ve booked Corsica for June 2026.
Staying in two different places. Looks super cool and interesting.

I really want to go to Corsica. Can I ask if you booked a package and if so, who with please? If not, can you say which accommodation you will be staying in? Feel free to PM if you prefer.

Me!😊
A UK based week (which we always do) is already booked 🙌
Thinking of a week in Switzerland and going to see a friend in France, too 😊
Dh has loads of BA points, so with any luck one of the trips will be fairly inexpensive 🤞

Actually gone a step further and booked 2027! I saw a good deal for a place we really liked the look of in Mallorca.

Aposterhasnoname · 03/11/2025 10:15

St Lucia in January, Iceland for Easter, Crete in the summer and Croatia in September.

Cant wait

Thanks for the tip! I haven't actually planned anything but I'll certainly look into that.

What hotel have you booked in DR please? I stayed at Grand memories splash and we had an amazing holiday. Next door to the Royalton in punta cana.

Don't want to be exact, but it's with Jet2 (Black Friday offer) and in the south east area which is my favourite. The calas round there are stunning!

These trips all sound wonderful! But it must cost ££££, how do people plan to budget for some many holidays?

I never went on holiday when my children were younger but now they’re all adults and can pay for themselves it’s financially possible.

DD1 is an archaeologist so we’re going to Easter Island while we’re in Chile and Cairo / Petra are obvious choices.

By both DH and I doing a fair amount of overtime. Both of us are also lucky enough to have the opportunity to regularly get offered extra work outside our usual jobs that adds a decent amount to our travel pot. We didn’t have any foreign travel at all when our DC were all younger but now they’re a bit older and I’m back to working full-time we have far less costs in childcare and more disposable income.

BG2015 · 04/11/2025 06:35

We can afford to budget for holidays as we have no dependents now and mortgage is paid. We don't eat out often, never buy takeaways, don't buy each other gifts anymore for Christmas and birthdays. Travel is what we prioritise so save for it.

I save every month and then that’s my holiday money for the next year when it “matures” and interest is paid in. I can’t touch it during the year.

I drive an 11 year old hatchback and live in a tiny cottage. I rarely drink alcohol and go out to eat about once a month. No takeaways. All my clothes are from Vinted. It’s just a priority for me.

letshavetea · 04/11/2025 07:12

All the trips sound wonderful. We’re retired and I’m loving the freedom to travel a lot! We have Barbados booked for March 2026 for 16 nights. We go every year and booked 11 months ago as soon as the BA reward flights are released.

I will book Italy for the summer, but I’m waiting for some concert tour dates to be released.

We’ll go to Centre Parcs with family at some point. I’ll probably go away with some friends. In the autumn my husband and I will have another holiday. We’ve just come back from Madeira.

Keepoffmyartichokes · 04/11/2025 07:18

We are going to Norway in Feb half term and AI in Turkey over summer. We have a 13 year old so AI works for us, we've chosen a massive hotel with lots of activities and a teens club where they go out on bike rides etc. Currently looking at New York for October half term but not 100% on that yet.

Trip to Dublin to see family in june
A week in Sweden in August

me and my three kids. We have escaped DV and planning these trips sets my soul alive. We are all hoping court proceedings will have concluded by then and we won’t need to ask permission from him ever again 🖤

A lovely fresh start xxxx

WanderlustMom · 04/11/2025 11:44

We have a summer holiday booked to Italy! Amalfi Coast. Then we’re going to do Disneyland Paris again - either for my son’s 6th birthday in the summer or for Halloween 😊

klkkjlapwjhdl · 04/11/2025 11:48

We have Florida booked for the summer (1 week Universal parks, 1 week Caribbean cruise). And we have a Center Parcs break booked.
