And where are you off to?

Just browsing all the usual sites and haven't committed yet so looking for inspiration!

Just me and DH and DC12.

Estepona 3 weeks over Christmas. Early March Pompeii, Herculaneum, Paestum, Caserta. (fewer crowds). Donegal and Sligo (Ireland) end of May. Nimes, Aix, Arles, Avignon September.

And back to Estepona again for Christmas. Retired and only do short hauls now the long hauls were done in younger days! I'm very very lucky to be able to do the travelling - no price on good health.

Morocco in January, Italy or Mexico at Easter we have yet to decide. Will probably stay home in the summer, I can no longer tolerate temperatures over 25/26°

cotedazur28 · 01/11/2025 19:08

Two weeks in Provence based in Saint Remy de Provence in July/August then a week in Palma at the end of August.

weegiemum · 01/11/2025 19:20

Dh has taken 2 weeks off in March and we’re going to the Outer Hebrides for 12 days. I know this sounds mental but we used to live there (and are planning on moving back in a few years when kids are settled) and still have a house that we rent to tourists. So we block off the weeks we want.

We’ll probably do something warm in the autumn and possibly go back north in May. It’s so good not to be tied to the school holidays any more!!

FatCatSkinnyRat · 02/11/2025 13:36

We are going to Australia and the South Pacific next summer. It will be an expensive trip so likely our only one next year.

@DisplayPurposesOnly and* *@countrygirl99 - who are you going to the Galapagos with (if anyone?). I am currently researching this for Oct / Nov 2027.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 02/11/2025 13:50

@FatCatSkinnyRat I’m going with Audley Travel. I wanted 12-14 nights on a small boat. And I'm a solo traveler who does not want to share a cabin so that ruled out a lot of options for me (either not available or the single supplement was the two person price).

I also looked at Naturetrek who were comparable but the AT timing suited me better.

countrygirl99 · 02/11/2025 14:29

@FatCatSkinnyRat we have booked through Wild foot Travel. We've got 8 days on a small boat with lots of snorkeling.

Ikeameatballs · 02/11/2025 14:31

Nothing yet. DS has GCSEs so we probably won’t go away until after that.

fussychica · 02/11/2025 15:32

Off to Spain for a month in a fortnight. Madiera in Jan and have an option on accommodation in Spain for next autumn. Have been talking about several other trips which will all be short-haul but not booked yet .

bellocchild · 02/11/2025 17:00

Brittany Ferries booked for September - we like specific cabins!

Aintnosunshinenowitsgone · 02/11/2025 21:12

FluentRuby · 02/11/2025 21:18

My adult daughter and I are going to Chile and then flying to Cairo and Petra.

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 31/10/2025 19:11

We’ve got Easter sorted, Kuala Lumpur, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Summer holidays possibly Italy.

Ooh, we’re thinking of that. Did you book a package? Who are you going with?

Crushed23 · 03/11/2025 02:23

Booked:
Miami in January
Mexico in March

Planned:
California in May
UK in July

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 03/11/2025 06:34

@canningqueenwe haven’t booked a package DH has booked it all! Holidays are his thing!
I think we’ve got a couple to nights in KL then fly to Siem Reap for 2 nights then on to Vietnam where we’ll visit I think 3 different places, but I can’t remember them all. I know we’ve got Halong Bay booked and Hoi An and Saigon. We’ve been before se have the kids in 2009, so had a rough idea of where we wanted to go and then he books the flights and then hotels are usually on a decent cancellation basis.

TattooStan · 03/11/2025 07:02

whatohwhattodo · 03/11/2025 07:45

few nights in Austrian alps in the summer. We had a big holiday last year so this year is a small one.

MakeTeaNotWar · 03/11/2025 07:46

These trips all sound wonderful! But it must cost ££££, how do people plan to budget for some many holidays?

To be honest, either by earning a lot, or deciding to cut back on other stuff. We decided not to use posh cars and private schools and spend the whole lot on holidays.

Mine's a bucket list trip so it's been planned for a long time and Im using my savings to finally do it. I'm very fortunate to have been able to save for it.

I kind of do bucket list trips or go to Cornwall, I'm not much interested in anything else!

Lordofmyflies · 03/11/2025 08:24

I've booked Centre Parc for Feb half term,
Oman for Easter
Namibia for August
