And where are you off to?

Just browsing all the usual sites and haven't committed yet so looking for inspiration!

Just me and DH and DC12.

I've just booked 10 days in may and 10 days in September in Mallorca. Planning a week or two in January in Lanzarote but need to sort a health problem first.

Then I want to book some UK breaks. One long weekend in a nice house where we can invite DC and partners. Thinking maybe peak District. Then a couple of short breaks in the Yorkshire Dales and coast.

October2025 · 01/11/2025 14:17

We have a cruise booked in February 2026 for Spain and France.
We will be going somewhere else October half term abroad.
Each half term in between we will do a night or two in a UK city.

SunnySangria · 01/11/2025 15:00

Thanks all, lots of food for thought.
There'll definitely be 2 weeks in Mallorca in July.
No May half term trip as DC has a school trip then.
Looking into a Feb half term break and usually a smaller trip at the end of August and October half term.

Never book anything until 2 to 3 weeks before ….. going to Poland next week …., looking at Canada for Easter time but won’t book it until early march

I haven't because I booked September 2024, for July 2025 and then when I checked in June 2025 it was £3k cheaper 😨 So I am not making that mistake again!

It's hard to win with dynamic pricing, it can go either way. If you checked and prices had shot up you'd be pleased. If I book with Jet2 I sometimes check when the balance is due as the deposit is only £120.
However I want to fly from a small local airport who only fly to Mallorca and I want specific hotels so it's worth booking early as they sell out.
For January I'll book close to the time as I have a few possible hotels I want and just hope the best rooms are still available.

Maldives in Easter for 10 nights, hopefully Greece for 5 nights in September

SunnySangria · 01/11/2025 15:18

@tipisrevenge wow! That's quite a difference.
Do you mind sharing where you were going, and who you booked with?

Turkey with TUI, it was for 6 people. But that stung. Wish I'd never looked out of curiosity!

holjam · 01/11/2025 15:34

10 days booked in Sangulí for next July.

tipisrevenge · 01/11/2025 15:34

@isitmyturn Yep I'm keeping my eye on prices over the year so I know what's reasonable or not and will book when comfortable but I'm flexible so that helps

Becs258 · 01/11/2025 15:38

Some great trips here! Just a long weekend in Stockholm booked so far.

Piratejenny99 · 01/11/2025 15:57

Andalusia at Easter and Paris Center Parcs and Disney in October. Not booked anything for summer 26 yet but thinking of London. Just waiting for the hotel to release dates and planning to book Kos for October 27.

Mikart · 01/11/2025 16:00

10 days in Port de Soller ( October), a week in Wales ( June), a Northumberland road trip ( July), a week in southern France ( May), 4 nights Lisbon ( April), Salzburg ( September)
Plus several London trips.
Need to decide where to go November/December.

weebarra · 01/11/2025 16:14

Turkey AI in October - have never ever done anything other than self catering, but the DCs are getting older and DH fancied it, so keeping an open mind.
Taking DD to London in Feb.
We were supposed to be going to Mallorca in late June with my DPs, but DF is having some health issues so not sure if that will happen.

Almondflour · 01/11/2025 16:47

We’ve got a longer trip to Japan with dc in the spring.

WolfieMuma · 01/11/2025 17:36

Nothing booked yet.

We’ve gone to Mallorca every year for the past few years, so really want to go somewhere different.

ApolloandDaphne · 01/11/2025 18:07

We have booked a few days in Bologna, a few days on Mull and 2 and half weeks in Canada. That takes us to May. Hooray for being retired!!

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 01/11/2025 18:12

Got an all inclusive week in Lanzarote booked for next August which we’ve had booked since July.

First time taking all three of our kids on holiday just the 5 of us not in the UK so we’re very much looking forward to it.

user1471548941 · 01/11/2025 18:14

3 weeks in Canada/Alaska booked in September. We’ve been before for a shorter trip so looking forward to exploring more and also taking MIL who’s really up for an adventure!

Topbird29 · 01/11/2025 18:16

August - Bella italia near pescheira on lake garda. Went there 2 summers ago and liked it, so decided to go back. Have booked a cabin and the flights - need to get on with booking hotel at Birmingham airport for night before (bit of a drive up), and parking. DH, DS14 and DS12 (still feels odd making them both a year older!)

countrygirl99 · 01/11/2025 18:20

Ecuador cloud forest and Galapagos in November. Need to get something else in before then. Probably Finland in June for a family event, a solo walking holiday somewhere in the UK late summer and a city break somewhere in the Spring.

DontGoJasonWaterfalls · 01/11/2025 18:33

Our first ever cruise in April, the Norwegian fjords.

We're doing a festival in the summer so will probably have a cheap Haven break somewhere in early autumn when the schools go back (perks of home educating!)

BotterMon · 01/11/2025 18:36

Skiing, 10 days in Kentucky USA for a specific event in May and a couple of weeks in Greece Sept/Oct so far. DH also doing another fortnight in June in the Med with his friend.
The joys of being retired.
