Any recommendations for a 5 day break next July for 2 middle aged women who like nice restaurants and music but not clubby type. Preferably with a harbour/marina. Old town. Beach rather than city break.
Thank you.

Edited as I missed the bit about you wanting a harbour/marina and it doesn't have that. It does however have beautiful beaches and the Balcon. The vibe is wonderful, so many beautiful restaurants and bars but no loud music or rowdy teens etc.

Also don't discount Fuengirola! It has a beautiful marina area and lots of lovely restaurants and bars, you don't have to go near the main 'strip' (which is called Fish Alley)

Chania in Crete?

We went there last year. Beautiful, with just the right amount of buzz.

Chania in Crete?

Chania is lovely! Whether it's enough for 5 nights though? I went solo a few years ago and did the Spinalonga excursion, it was amazing but a long bus ride. Crete is such a big island with so much to see, you have to be prepared to travel to see it all.

Nice? Or too boring. I’ve always enjoyed going, and there are good restaurants. Not too much to do, but I quite like that too.

Agios Nikolaos in Crete is exactly what you’re looking for I think (not sure about the music scene as only passed through briefly but have always wanted to go and have a proper holiday there since!)

Isle of Wight - plenty of sailing.

Also Majorca.

Girne, North Cyprus.

Fly to Ercan (with Turkish Airlines) not Larnaca. Not sure what type of music you are after but the Bellapais Abbey has a lively musical itinerary with concerts and live performances. Beautiful harbour, castle, museum, old town and lots of restaurants serving mainly Turkish food. Sandy beaches approx 15 mins away.

Albufeira marina is lovely and within walking distance/taxi of Albufeira old town. The old town was a bit 'British! In parts but still has some nice back streets with cafes, restaurants etc. the walk into the old town is about 20 mins with uphill parts but an U er is about €5 and it's a nice walk downhill back to the marina. Also within uber distance of Vilamoura. We did try and get the hop on hop off bus but it never turned up!
