Any recommendations for a 5 day break next July for 2 middle aged women who like nice restaurants and music but not clubby type. Preferably with a harbour/marina. Old town. Beach rather than city break.
Thank you.

Estepona. There's a marina, a Sunday market, fabulous manicured beaches right in the town, a super walkway for kms for an easy way to get your steps in, great restaurants one row back from the coast road, massive flower displays, and quite an authentic feel with no all day breakfast vibes! Add in a side trip to Ronda on the charming train journey from San Roque down the road and you're sorted!

Can you tell it's my favourite spot in Southern Spain 😊

Symi, though you have to fly to Rhodes and get the ferry across.

I absolutely love Ferragudo in Portugal - it’s a little fishing town with a square with few restaurants and a few shopping streets and a beach with 4 beach bars so it’s quite small but opposite Portimao if you want something busier and there are boat tours along the coast and up the river. Only an hour from Faro too.

Amare Beach in Marbella is only a ten minute walk to Marbella old town/orange square, very pretty, lovely vibes. From there Puerto Banus is only ten minutes in a taxi for a night around the gorgeous harbour with the super yacht’s and excellent shops (if that’s your thing)

Alcudia port area in Majorca…very nice beach, lovely restaurants and beautiful old town to explore

AKAanothername · 10/07/2025 21:37

Cadiz is a great place for a short break.

UK Tenby or fly out to Guernsey as St Peter Port is great and the island accessible. only a short flight too - for 5 days you don’t want to waste most of it travelling.
Abroad Cyprus, the harbour and old town in Paphos or Puerto De Mogan in Gran Canaria

Katelios in Kefalonia
Cavtat in Croatia, close to Dubrovnik

Another vote for Tenby!

Porto is lovely but not enough there for 5 days.
I would say Nerja or Ibiza town

ThePoshUns · 10/07/2025 22:28

Marbellla is great as well. Beaches, great restaurants and a visit to Puerto Banus.

kotor montenegro.

Faro in Portugal. It has a harbour and marina and lots of nice restaurants. There is a good selection of restaurants and shops. You can get the boat to Faro Island which is a gorgeous beach. There are good train connections all along the Algarve and even to Lisbon if you wanted to have a day there.

There is also a lovely old town and all kinds of accommodation.

Rovinj Croatia. Here at the moment. Its a totally amazing place. Old town is stunning, great harbour, Adriatic is pristine, beach bars, islands to explore, nature park, lovely hotels, shops, art, street music. Its not 'clubby' though. Never been anywhere like it.

Lagos or Ferragudo in the algarve. I live just along the coast but we don’t have a marina/harbour

minnienono · 10/07/2025 22:46

Come stay in my spare rooms … Marina is 2 mins, lots of restaurants (plenty for 5 nights at least) and as long as you are here over a weekend, free live music in many of the local pubs that’s definitely an all age affair. I’m a middle aged woman and up dancing most weekends! You definitely don’t need to go abroad as there’s dozens of places around the U.K. like that and currently it’s also 28 degrees

Notoironing · 10/07/2025 22:51

Mahon in Menorca

KnickerlessParsons · 10/07/2025 23:28

Stathes in Yorkshire, or Tenby.

Conniebygaslight · 11/07/2025 22:28

Thanks all….looking for an overseas break. Should’ve said. Sorry.
Croatia is definitely a fave so far I think

If you want to stay in the UK then give Tenby a look

Tui. We looked to do direct but it was cheaper with them. We have a hotel.
