How many pyjamas to pack?

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 12/10/2024 17:15

I’m going away for a 7 night holiday and just wondering how many pyjamas/ nightwear do you pack for this?

Some people on here say clean every night - do you really take 7 pairs away with you?

Stop. Hammertime.

Do people actually wear clothes in bed?

I honestly thought that was a joke.

OatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 13/10/2024 01:40

I don’t sleep in pyjamas but always take a dressing gown with me.

2chocolateoranges · 13/10/2024 01:47

Wear my pjs for 2 nights so for a weeks holiday I’d take 4 sets.

Change every night at home

TheVofR · 13/10/2024 02:37

Dear me, this thread is making me feel quite bad. I wear a lightweight slip to bed on hols, and I expect to wear it for the week only out of decency to my room-mate (often sister or daughter) I am clean and it is not clinging to any area and we go hand-baggage only. At home, in colder climes, I wear PJs, and the change is more frequent.

Ladyof2024 · 13/10/2024 03:04

On holidays I always packed an ankle length kaftan. This served as a nightdress, a beach cover-up after swimming, and something to cover my swimming costume to and from the pool. Three uses for one garment is the way to pack!

merrymelodies · 13/10/2024 03:31

I don't wear pyjamas - too much clothing - but I would say two pairs. If one gets grubby then you have a backup pair.

ForGreyKoala · 13/10/2024 04:29

One pair.

wendywoopywoo222 · 13/10/2024 04:41

None same as at home.

I only wear a vest top to bed but I’d pack 3/4 for a 7 night stay.
Son has 3 pairs of pj’s for a week away, assuming he will be wearing clothes at breakfast (and therefore not getting pjs covered in it)

Sprogonthetyne · 13/10/2024 07:16

Depends on the type of holiday

Family room with the kids, 2-3
Just you and partner, 0

Aria20 · 13/10/2024 07:54

For a week 3 pairs - and yes I normally change them every night at home but I don't have 7 pairs of pjs and I try to pack sensibly so make do with 3 on holiday - air con so less likely to sweat and wear them for less hours on holiday as well as go to bed later!

Netcam · 13/10/2024 08:08

Depends on the holiday, climate, and whether I'd need them. On a backpacking summer trip with minimal luggage, none. Going away in our caravan, probably 3.

I remember once going to Paris for 5 nights years ago with DH with no PJs. The hotel didn't have duvets, only sheets and blankets. It was April, but still very cold. I was freezing and ended up wearing my clothes in bed.

CornedBeef451 · 13/10/2024 08:22

I'd just take one set as I wear the same pyjamas for a week at home.

What's everyone up to that you need more than one set a week?

I only wear them in bed and have different ones for lounging.
I wear underpants to bed and no sex happening so I can't see why my pyjamas would be dirty.

MiddleAgedDread · 13/10/2024 08:23

One! How much laundry do people have that wear clean PJs every night?!

crumblingschools · 13/10/2024 08:51

I bet the 7 day PJ brigade are people who will be asking for clean towels every day too

What??

What’s hard to understand?

I wear my pjs for 2 nights therefore on a weeks holiday I’d take 4 pairs. Nothing out the ordinary there!

Obviously I was being a bit facetious.

Apologies.

I'm a niffer though, the thought of taking four pairs of Pajamas for a week's holiday would completely bugger up my carry on capsule.

olympicsrock · 13/10/2024 09:46

I’d take 3 pairs ( actually would wear a silky slip night dress and would take 3 ) . I change alternate days at home .

Putfa · 13/10/2024 09:47

I would take just the one.

LibertyCaps · 13/10/2024 09:56

Honest question,

Do you all really wear things in bed?

And have you always? Is a habit or a comfort thing?

I always put my children in PJs but they discarded them as soon as they were able, I'm from a family of naked sleepers.

I honestly thought that the majority of adults slept naked.

Is that not right?
