How many pyjamas to pack?

I’m going away for a 7 night holiday and just wondering how many pyjamas/ nightwear do you pack for this?

Some people on here say clean every night - do you really take 7 pairs away with you?

I normally wear pyjamas for 2 nights before washing them but on holiday I take 3 pairs for 7 nights and go for a 3/2/2 split.

Twilightstarbright · 12/10/2024 18:39

I’ve just packed two but I wear a satin slip so easy to wash in the shower with me and dry on the balcony.

dinmin · 12/10/2024 18:41

Same as home. Top or nightie for every night and then a few pairs of bottoms, enough for one pair for every 2-3 nights (unless I know it’ll be hot enough not to need them then just one or two pairs for lounging)

bitsalty · 12/10/2024 18:47

I'd pack two bottoms but rarely sleep in them. I sleep in pants and a t-shirt or vest and would take maybe 4/5 tops.

Hayley1256 · 12/10/2024 18:53

I would take 3 pairs for 7 night holiday as long as the room has AC. Weirdly I do out a clean pair on everything at home 😅

DappledThings · 12/10/2024 18:55

One. Wouldn't cross my mind to take more.

IBegYourBiggestPardon · 12/10/2024 18:58

One pair. I don't sleep in pjs so if Im travelling on my own they are solely packed for chilling in the room or on the off chance the fire alarm goes off during the night so I can quickly throw them on. If I share a room with someone then I tend to just sleep in some cycling shorts and tee shirt

Nell1974 · 12/10/2024 18:59

One pair, silky bottoms with a camisole top that can be rinsed through and dried on the balcony, and a long chiffon shirt that doubles as a swimsuit coverup. I travel light.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 12/10/2024 19:03

Just the one, but only put on (by DP or Amorous Stranger) should I fall out of bed pissed and require medical assistance.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 12/10/2024 20:17

Two pairs of PJ trousers / shorts then I'd sleep in a T shirt or vest I'd already worn.

Driedonion · 12/10/2024 23:01

One set, and mostly I only sleep in the top because I don’t like having cold shoulders.
I usually wear cotton underwear even if I have PJ bottoms on.

For a week....? One pair.

I wear nothing in bed though, and so would only wear my pyjamas in the room at night for an hour or two.

Depends on what hormones are doing, expected weather etc. 1 or 2 if expecting period or being dischargey, 3 if I've been sweating profusely recently but I'd resent feeling forced to take 3.

Singleandproud · 12/10/2024 23:07

Depends on if you wear underwear really, if you wear them as underwear a pair a night, if not I normally pack several black vests / long sleeve tshirts that I can wear as day clothes or as PJs for some flexibility and a pair of shorts and a pair of leggings in case it's cold to sleep in.

Copperoliverbear · 12/10/2024 23:41

Four.

depoa · 12/10/2024 23:42

I bring 2 sets but they aren't technically PJs, just long sleeve tops and leggings so can be worn as clothes if needed. We always stay in places with laundry facilities.

ZenNudist · 12/10/2024 23:43

One pair

naemates · 12/10/2024 23:56

I'm the 7 pair weirdo you're looking for! I'd take 7 pairs of pj shorts and a couple of tops

NPET · 13/10/2024 00:04

Two pairs at most. Sometimes I only wear the tops anyway.

I wear a nightie/nightshirt and have a clean one each night at home. On holiday I would bring one and probably sleep naked, but could put on one of DP’s t-shirts if need be.

Interesting no one has said they will take 7 pairs, as on laundry threads there is a lot of passion about clean jammies every night.

Never considered taking a spare pair due to pissing myself, fortunately never had that problem.

I’m going on a cruise so not sure how warm the room will be but probably mid-range.

I think the 7 pj brigade don't go on holiday because they are tied to the washing machine.

I would take one pair. Very unlikely to piss myself. Can use hotel laundry or other comfies if needed to change. 2 pairs for a ten night break.

I'm not a sweater though.

motherofonegirl · 13/10/2024 01:30

1 set. Air con in the room so hopefully not sweaty in the night. Could always take travel wash and wash them if you felt the need

crumblingschools · 13/10/2024 01:32

I thought I packed heavy but 7 pairs, that is ridiculous. For a week I would probably take 1 pair but have something similar I could wear if necessary.

If people take 7 PJs what day clothes do you take?
