AirBnB - Bed no breakfast?!

Not sure whether IABU but I'm miffed! Stayed in an AirBnB last week and there was only B, no B! First time I've stayed in an AirBnB where this has happened.

We arrived 5pm too (unavoidable delays) so we're too late to head out and forage for breakfast foods, but thankfully I had packed a box of cereal from our kitchen at home so at least kids were happy. We were left 1pt of milk in the fridge. We were staying a whole 6 nights.

Is this the norm? It's literally in the name; I book an AirBnB and expect BnB. Or did I misunderstand?!

I haven't written a review or feedback yet

I am not 'assuming ' anything! See my post above with the definition of AirBnB.

You said you would have assumed it included breakfast in your previous post

I did say that I assumed there would be breakfast, as that is literally what the definition of an AirBnB is. I was then reiterating that I didn't incorrectly 'assume', I was confirming the definition. You must have had to spend ages trolling through the definition of an AirBnB to find the one you posted above, as when I Googled it the first 5 or 6 definitions showed it was Bed and BREAKFAST, as included in my post. As I said, IF I ever needed to book an AirBnB, I would naturally look at the terms for that particular establishment. Would you book a traditional B & B and not expect breakfast or indeed a bed?

No, I searched "what does Air bnb mean?" and those 2 definitions popped up straight away. A traditional b&b is not self catering accommodation (ie just a bedroom) so it's completely different to an air bnb in most instances. Even then, sometimes breakfast is an additional charge which is why it's so important to check carefully exactly what you're getting, whichever accommodation youre booking which of course is what you're planning to do, should you ever use one 😉

Well we both searched online for definitions of AirBnB, and apparently came up with completely different answers. Google is a fickle thing it seems.😆

Our one booked in Toronto does stuff like shampoo and shower gel. Towels weren't in list. Thankfully they provide which is a relief as they take up loads of space in suitcase. They also have a washing machine which means can take less clothes and each half way thro. We had a complimentary fruit basket in New York with a few snacks for kids.It contained a compact mirror which I still have. Also coffee for swanky coffee machine you needed a degree to work. we did our own breakfast

All this debate about AirBnB and the OP has long since disengaged once they realised they weren't being supported.

Once people started asking for a link to the listing they mysteriously evaporated.

Wouldn't expect a breakfast at Airbnb. They're generally self catered unless they specify otherwise.
