Do you post pictures of your hols on SM?

Just this really, do you post pics once you are home? Do you not bother?

I like to document my travels via SM and blogging but this year I am hesitant as it has caused some tension within the wider family.

Hubby says - don't bother
I say - why shouldn't we post the occasional pic (not in a braggy way or anything)

No I do t because it is bragging though isn't it. Why else would you post it ? Because you want others to see Keep pictures private for goodness sake it's cringe

DelurkingAJ · 17/05/2024 22:00

Sometimes and I like seeing my friends’ pictures from their holidays. They’re my friends, after all, so I’m pleased they’ve done something nice. Why would I cringe?!

This, basically!

HooleyB · 17/05/2024 22:03

It's really not bragging to share bits of your life with those who are 'friends'. If they don't want to see they can snooze you!

MysteriousKor · 17/05/2024 22:04

Not really. Maybe the occasional interesting fountain or something.

I haven't posted on SM for years but I do like to see what others get up to.

Psychoticbreak · 17/05/2024 22:14

Yes and love seeing others pics. Only the odd one of the hotels or something we have been to not 400 blurry pics of absolutely everything but I do post.

Elastoslax · 17/05/2024 22:15

I don't but I love seeing other people's pics of holidays and events etc

I say post away! No one HAS to look at them

Retiredearly61 · 17/05/2024 22:15

I like to post mine on Facebook then every year they appear in my memories. I use it like an extra cloud storage system

HeddaGarbled · 17/05/2024 22:19

I used to but then I started to see how everyone only puts pictures up when they’ve been somewhere lovely and realised that it is just bragging really, so I stopped. I think one or two family or funny pictures is fine, but 20 pictures of sunsets over the sea and plates of seafood, not so much.

Precipice · 17/05/2024 22:20

I don't post any photos on social media.

CatrionaCat · 17/05/2024 22:20

I have elderly relatives and friends who can no longer travel themselves and tell me they travel vicariously through my SM posts and love seeing them. So yes, I do. Maybe there's also an element of bragging if I'm absolutely honest.

BingoMarieHeeler · 17/05/2024 22:23

No. My social media is only for my creative pursuits, not my real life bits and bobs generally. I find life to be so much more enjoyable and fulfilling when fewer people know what I’ve been up to, weirdly! Can’t explain it really.

Am805463 · 17/05/2024 22:25

Yes I do and I love seeing my friends pics too. Gives me ideas of where to holiday myself.

SBGHJ · 17/05/2024 22:28

Yes.

The only photos I like to see online are peoples pets, (sometimes) kids and holiday photos.

It's all the other bollocks on social media I can do without.

Why do I want to see photos of the non holiday days?

As long as it's not 20 photos of the same thing I'm happy with people posting as many holiday photos as they like. Might inspire me.

It's not bragging to be grateful for the holiday you've saved hard for and to post photos of it.

In most cases accusing someone of 'bragging' is just a way of people trying to mask their jealousy. Where do you draw the line between what's bragging and what isn't?

Also mainly I like to post them to see in my memories. Don't give a toss if others look at them or have me on mute.

Charlie2121 · 17/05/2024 22:28

I’ve never posted a single photo on SM. Whether that be holidays, selfies or family.

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 17/05/2024 22:31

Yep i always post pictures of my travels and i love seeing my friends photos of their trips

Redglitter · 17/05/2024 22:33

I like seeing friends holiday photos

Just don't post the legs on the sunlounger one.

Cantdoitagain1 · 17/05/2024 22:34

Nope. If you want to keep photos, keep photos but posting them publicly is cringey. I appreciate I’m in the minority though as most people post every single thing.

NewName24 · 17/05/2024 22:35

Yes, I do, when I get home.
I like to see them come up in my memories.

I also like seeing other people's. Partly because it is nice to see family and friends enjoying themselves and having a nice time, and, to a lesser extent, it's nice to get ideas of where people have been.
So, I presume people like seeing mine.

ellecf21 · 17/05/2024 22:36

If posting holiday pics is "bragging" on SM then surely everything is? People are too affected all the time. I like to see a holiday pic, sometimes gives inspo for places to go. I mainly post when away because I feel more private about my home life and tbh I'm not taking pics of my cup of coffee in the morning or my home office. You're often more relaxed on holiday and more likely to stop and take a pic. That's fine, and no one's business and I don't judge anyone else for what they post.

neveradullmoment99 · 17/05/2024 22:36

It's complete bragging at worst and seeking validation at best.

OMGitsnotgood · 17/05/2024 22:36

I do because I use it as a diary. If my 'friends' don't like that I do this, they are welcome to scroll past or defriend me.

I also love seeing other people's holiday photos, partly because I am nosey interested in what my friends are doing, and partly to find out a bit about where they have been , and whether I think it's somewhere we might enjoy.

DinnaeFashYersel · 17/05/2024 22:37

I do. I use Facebook like a digital diary.

I enjoy seeing my friends and family travel photos.

I only have real friends and family on Facebook so none of the braggy nonsense that seems to distress those with 100s of FB friends.
