I've been to Majorca loads of times over the years...and different types of holidays there too....been with the girls on a clubbing holiday, been with a boyfriend and been as a family.

BunniesRUs · 04/04/2024 23:14

Only turkey more than once

Jk987 · 04/04/2024 23:15

Ibiza. 3 times. All when I was in my thirties! Maybe I'll go back for my 50th!

PandaG · 04/04/2024 23:19

North Wales several times, including the same holiday cottage, same campsite in Dorset and South Wales a couple of times. Been to Scotland several times, stayed in different places for main holiday but same place in the borders on the, way up, and Northumberland on the way down.

MuggedByReality · 04/04/2024 23:24

The USA. I have been fortunate enough to be able to go there many times over the years including several long road trips and I have visited 26 states so far. Places I have visited repeatedly include New England, New York, Washington DC, Texas, Nevada & California. Next on the list : Yellowstone, Seattle & the Pacific North West.

TheTripThatWasnt · 04/04/2024 23:27

Italy several times, but always different parts (apart from 5 visits to Sauze and 2 to the Dolomites to ski).

Scotland and Wales several times.

USA x2 (east vs west)
Canada x 3 (different places)
Barcelona x2 (with different people)
Bruges x2 (different people)
Prague x 2 (different people)
France several times (different places)
Portugal (north vs south)
Majorca (east vs west)

I think of 'destinations' as a city/region rather than a country. There is still loads I want to see of countries I've been to before - France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Slovenia, Denmark... but I wouldn't count those as 'going back to the same place' as the itineraries would be quite different.

AnotherEmma · 04/04/2024 23:38

Agree with PP, I wouldn't count it as going back to the same place if it was the same country, different location.

Cornwall - lots of family holidays as a child and later as an adult, always the same town

Brittany - family holiday as an adult with my husband and kids, went back a second time and might return but not to the exact same place I don't think

New York - once with family as a teen, once with DH

Dibblydoodahdah · 04/04/2024 23:39

USA x 5 including twice each to Los Angeles, San Diego and Vegas
Malta x 3
Tenerife x 4
Majorca x 3
Gran Canaria x 2
French alps x 3
Paris x 2
Disneyland Paris x 3
Algarve x 2
Barcelona x 2
Cordoba/Grenada x 2
Costa del Sol x 3
Salou x 2

AnotherEmma · 04/04/2024 23:42

Oops, I didn't count Paris although I have been there many times, I lived there for a brief while and have visited too.

CommeIlFaut · 04/04/2024 23:44

Often to places with family ties. We often visit the same village in the Alps for skiing and in the summer, as FIL has a house there. At least every year, sometimes twice. Similarly, to MIL’s in Provence. We have stayed at my parents’ holiday home in Norfolk probably a couple of dozen times (I often just take the kids up for a week.) And to visit my best friend in Vermont several times.

Aside from that, we’ve visited the same countries several times (USA, France, Spain, a few others) but usually go to different places. Except Namibia- I’ve been to Etosha four times and we are back again next year. It’s my (very distant, very expensive) happy place.

Imnotarestaurant · 04/04/2024 23:45

Barcelona.

Lanzarote. Been three times, the last two have stayed in the same resort but generally don’t return to resorts.

Menorca-once as a young child then again with my children so not sure if that counts!!

I have family in the Caribbean so have been plenty of times but that is more a family visit rather than a “holiday”.

Isthisexpected · 04/04/2024 23:47

Do you mean literally? I've been to the exact same hotel twice in Spain. I have also thought ooh I'd like to come back here to somewhere in Wales and booked that exact place again three years later.

Going to the same country but staying somewhere else and visiting different places isn't quite what I thought you meant from the title.

But surely everyone goes to a local holiday destination far more than once? I live in the NW ….I visit Wales at least once a year…,the lakes 3 to 4 times a year and the Yorkshire Dales at least twice a year….I also have around 4 trips to London a year

if you are talking about holidays abroad
Vendee st Jean de monts 8 times ….love it there
perth Australia 4 times….we have family there
Menorca x 3
Barcelona 3 times
Ibiza twice
Amsterdam x 3
the Canadian Rockies twice
i could go on and on as I’m sure loads of people can…..I’m 59 so been many places twice at least

NewName24 · 05/04/2024 00:26

If you are talking about Wales as if it were 'one destination', then I must have been there hundreds of times.
But I'd count 'Wales' as hundreds of destinations.

So would I …I’ve been to Anglesey…and Tenby and loads of places in tween …..and it must take around 4 hours to drive from one to the other

suddenwanderlust · 05/04/2024 00:44

depends what you mean by holiday destination. I have been to the USA 3 times, but hundreds of miles apart - does that count? I shouldn't think so. I have been to the same campsite in Wales 4 times, that probably counts. Other places somewhere in between the two extremes

StellaGibson2022 · 05/04/2024 00:46

Israel x 2 (Holy Land tour and then a stay on a kibbutz)
Cornwall x 4 (mix of holidays and visiting people)
Turkey x lost count but over 10 (family, girls and couple holidays)
Greece x 2 (once when young then a girls holiday)

I really recommend Turkey!

Bbq1 · 05/04/2024 00:48

Croyde Bay in Devon
Potters Resort in Norfolk (about 6 times)
Whitby
Torrevieja in Spain

Jenpeg · 05/04/2024 00:53

Been to the same resort in Portugal dozens of times as had a house there, loved knowing the area and the people. Been to places like Athens and mykonos on tours a few times, been to Paris numerous times, and la Rochelle a few times, been to NYC a couple of times and palma City and Barca. I love going somewhere new too and do that often but love a revisit as you can build on prior knowledge and feel you can get more out of it a second time so I like both a new destination and going somewhere I know already, both have positives for me. Obviously there are places I feel once was enough too

OldMrsHempstock · 05/04/2024 01:06

lavenderlou · 05/04/2024 01:57

France - have travelled around but been around 30 times. Have stayed in the same house in Brittany 6 times because we love it there.

sashh · 05/04/2024 02:55

As a child my mother would not fly and would not take a ferry that took longer than 2 hours so every holiday abroad included France. Paris as a distinct destination 5 times.

As a child Cornwall a few times and as an adult my brother lives there so I have been a number of times to stay with him.

Italy 4 times, different places.
Australia 3 times.
Belgium a few times.
The Netherlands 3 times (Amsterdam twice).
Spain 3 times.
Germany twice.

MojoDojoCasaHouse · 05/04/2024 13:06

Pembrokeshire - multiple times as DH is from there. My teens favourite place to visit.

Paris/DLP - 3 x

Netherlands Duinrell and Efteling- 2 x

Cornwall - multiple (we live in Devon so easy to access)

Lake District - x 4

Brittany - x 4 (easy access due to ferry route)

Morocco - x 3

I like to alternate new destinations with familiar ones.
