As the title says where is hot for October half term - short flight and short transfer (up to one hour private transport)

I'm thinking Majorca - palma nova

Menorca

Corfu

Portugal

Costa del sol

Costa Blanca

Are any of these a yes or no? Any others can you think of please ?

I've been to Majorca a few times mid October. Usually about 19-24C. But I don't do pool holidays there so more walking about in shorts / dresses and stopping for drinks and lunch etc. Probably a bit too cold for typical pool holiday in swimwear all day.

RedSoloCup · 14/07/2023 21:47

Cyprus I went in November and it was degrees still, 4.5 hour flight

supersonicginandtonic · 14/07/2023 21:49

I've been to all those places in October half term. Spent it on the beach and came home with tans.

MyBrownEyedHandsomeBoy · 14/07/2023 21:51

We went to grab canaria in Oct couple years back and it was hot. 4h flight too so not far off what you're asking for.
Also, turkey but is a further flight if you can stretch a bit further away

Any places / resorts that had a nice short transfer?

Gran Canaria **

caringcarer · 14/07/2023 21:54

Cyprus
Sicily
Greek Islands
Cape Verde
Tenerife

DoThePropeller · 14/07/2023 21:54

Seville or València would probs be my pick.

Lykia · 14/07/2023 21:56

Tenerife Costa Adeje.

caringcarer · 14/07/2023 21:57

I went to North Cyprus and we landed in Turkey for 1 hour, stayed on plane, then set off again for North Cyprus. From Gatwick about 4 1/2 hours flight.

BitOutOfPractice · 14/07/2023 21:59

Yes you can get hot weather in any of those places. But you most certainly can’t guarantee it.

with those flight times you’re only sort of guaranteed in Morocco or canaries.

I find it odd you’ll go 3.5 hours but not 4 🤷‍♀️

Lavenderu · 14/07/2023 22:00

All those places are unreliable in October. While I wouldn't want a long haul flight the extra half hour to Lanzarote would be worth it to me for guaranteed sun.

guineacup · 14/07/2023 22:25

If you want guaranteed "hot" weather rather than pleasantly warm weather, especially if it's the end of October, the nearest resort would be Sharm-el-Shiekh

guineacup · 14/07/2023 22:26

Lykia · 14/07/2023 21:56

Tenerife Costa Adeje.

That's very specific... is it colder in the rest of the island 😂

Karrpt · 14/07/2023 22:28

"That's very specific... is it colder in the rest of the island 😂"

Yes, it's cloudier and generally cooler and breezier in the North. That was not my comment but I agree

Ideally I wanted to say 3 hours so pushed it to 3.5
To try to be reasonable.

Is that a short transfer

Canaries

Windercar · 14/07/2023 22:34

We went to Seville in early October once and it was in the high 30’s the whole time!

and? What is the point of writing this comment? It was 30 in October in England once.

Seville - the frying pan of Spain.

Clymene · 14/07/2023 22:36

Costa Adeje is about 20 mins from the airport.

BitOutOfPractice · 14/07/2023 22:37

But @hollyblueivy an extra hour in the air really doesn’t make a difference really?

DoThePropeller · 14/07/2023 22:44

Seville’s average temp is 26 degrees in October and 20 in November - OP considers hot 18-23 so pretty much guaranteed!

Karrpt · 14/07/2023 22:49

"Is that a short transfer"

10-15 mins in a taxi to adeje, Los cristianos and golf del sur (quieter)

dearJayne · 14/07/2023 22:50

Tenerife 4.5 hours depending on what airport you're flying from. Hot all year round.
