Is £400 a night at a hotel too expensive?

DH has had his 'head turned' by nice 4-5* hotel. It's an expensive island generally so £400 a night is mid range. We aren't rich. We could definitely 'afford' it for a few nights of the holiday.

Hi OP, I stayed at this hotel in February!

It was wonderful. Not too bougie/luxury, no annoying guests (they tend to be on the other side of the island), hardly any kids (could have been time of year though).

The best bit is Boom restaurant by the pool, which does amazing food and great cocktails that they will bring to you by the pool. There’s a water taxi which will take you to Galleon beach and between the two hotel sites. You can also rent kayaks for free to do these journeys yourself.

English Harbour Town is generally fantastic and my favourite part of Antigua. It attracts a much more genteel breed of traveller.

If you need restaurant recommendations let me know! 😊

There’s a place in Big Sur, California, called Ventana.
It was $600/night in the early 80s. I can’t imagine how expensive it is now.
