Dyslexicwonder · 22/04/2023 16:34

New England somewhere, Cape cod ?

SpaghettiSquash · 22/04/2023 16:36

Definitely New England.

backinthefog · 22/04/2023 16:39

I've done Toronto for (I think) 5ish nights, including a day trip to Niagara Falls, then a few nights in New York.

Very short flight. Toronto is obviously another city though so not relaxing in the same way a beach destination would be relaxing but it's a very slow paced, relaxed city (particularly compared to New York) so you can mooch around at a much slower pace. I love Toronto. 7 nights is probably a bit long for Toronto though unless you hired a car and took some day trips outside the city.

We did 9 nights on the queen Mary 2 across the Atlantic, no luggage limit!

KitKatLove · 22/04/2023 17:08

We did New York onto Cape Cod then finished in Boston. Loved it.

We did similar, unfortunately didn't get to Boston, next time.

Disco2023 · 22/04/2023 17:31

We did 5 Toronto with a day trip to the falls is what we did, nice calmer city after 5 in NYC which I love ( I’ve been three times) Really enjoyed Toronto but I find things to enjoy in most cities we visit

I like seeing the US by train sometimes - NYC to Washington, or up to Boston. The journey is a nice chilled out day seeing the scenery change. Would that work for you?

DibbleDooDah · 22/04/2023 17:45

We went to Key West and Miami. Direct flights from Newark - two and a half hours and just under £100 each. Was a lovely contrast and very chilled.

Or you could just get the train from Manhattan out to Long Island and chill in Montauk.

Rummikub · 22/04/2023 17:47

New York to Toronto on the train. Via Boston and buffalo.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 22/04/2023 17:49

yy to Cape Cod.
Train from Penn Station to Providence/Boston, pick up a car there.

ApolloandDaphne · 22/04/2023 17:49

We have done NY, Boston then Cape Cod a few times and it is fab. Train from NY to Boston and then hire a car to get to the Cape.

MonkeysandParrots · 22/04/2023 17:50

NYC and Bermuda? Short flight from NY & beautiful island …

ditalini · 22/04/2023 17:51

I did Boston, New York, Washington DC, West Virginia & drive through part of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The city transfers were by rail (3-4 hours) and then car hire from DC.

AutumnLeaves5 · 22/04/2023 17:53

You can get 7 day cruises from New Jersey to the Bahamas/Caribbean. Just take an Uber to the port and you’re good to go!

Auntpodder · 22/04/2023 17:55

Upstate New York is gorgeous in July…. Finger lakes especially

reluctantbrit · 22/04/2023 18:28

We are doing Boston, 5 nights, Newport/RI for 5 nights and then New York for 4 nights. We fly to Boston and then hire a car and drive down and take a return flight from NY.

An alternative was NY or Boston and then flight to Montreal, drive to Quebec (road trip over 3 days) and from Quebec back.

Loubelou14 · 22/04/2023 18:29

We did New York then Florida. Easy to get internal flight. Was March so snowy NY then lovely and warm FL.

whoruntheworldgirls · 22/04/2023 19:06

Mightyouandiconfabulate · 22/04/2023 19:20

New York to Toronto on the train. Via Boston and buffalo.

How was this @Rummikub ? Looked like a very king train journey so we were thinking train from NY to Boston then fly to Toronto?

Kvetching · 22/04/2023 19:30

Yes, many times we have bolted New York into another US holiday. We’ve done 2 or 3 nights in New York followed by the Gulf of Mexico, Mackinac island and The Carolinas.

shivawn · 22/04/2023 19:31

We did Boston, New York, Las Vegas, LA and San Diego. It was a great trip but I think the flight from New York to Vegas was around 5 hours.
