We're off to Mallorca for a week next summer, staying near Sa Pobla: Finca Son Caldera. I've never been before but the hotel looks gorgeous and I'm looking forward to a lazy week away. I was hoping for a Black Friday discount on flights but sadly not. Booked anyway as they weren't getting any cheaper!

What are your holiday plans for next year?

Two weeks in Thassos. Never been before but it’s supposed to be one of the quieter Greek islands.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 27/11/2022 14:20

That looks lovely, I love Mallorca. Hopefully a week in Cyprus in June plus a few city breaks across Europe.

HotChicolate · 27/11/2022 14:22

I’m have only sorted the first half of the year so far

LA and a cruise to Mexico

Cambodia and a Vietnam river cruise

A few places in Canada including a rail journey followed by a cruise to Alaska

Week in Devon

MintyGreenDreams · 27/11/2022 14:28

3 weeks in Egypt and 1 week in Turkey

whiteroseredrose · 27/11/2022 14:41

Weekend in Krakow with DH.

Hopefully a 'big' trip to the Yucatán peninsula in Mexico in December with DH and DC but the weak pound has made it much more expensive than I'd planned.

I'm going to Amsterdam for the weekend with a friend and DH and I might go to Istanbul with other friends - but that is dependent on elderly DP and PIL.

PolkaDotMankini · 27/11/2022 16:10

The Yucatan peninsula was one of my favourite ever holidays. I hope you get there!

Hoping to go to France for 10 days with mate. Thinking about Brittany. She driving. I can speak the lingo so should be ok. Not sure where. Might try and get a gite.

Turkey for a week in May half term. It's an AI luxury resort which we've never done before but think it'll be great with the Dc now they're 8 and 10

Lookout3 · 27/11/2022 16:27

9 nights I'm Antalya in May! Had it booked for some time now!

That’s only the first half of the year sorted?! Wowsers! Lucky you.

Weekend trip to Ibiza June

Two week family holiday to Ibiza august

A week somewhere in October, prob Ireland.

Whattaboutit · 27/11/2022 16:38

Haven’t booked anything yet. I’m feeling a bit apprehensive about committing with the cost of everything else going up so much.

HundredMilesAnHour · 27/11/2022 17:33

3 weeks in Australia (belated 50th birthday present to myself as I turned 50th at the start of the very first lockdown so couldn't see a soul as I live on my own...it was awful as I'd been dreading 50 for a long time and it was even more awful than I had imagined).

It isn't my first time visiting Australia and I feel like I have unfinished business from previous visits. Fly to Sydney (business class on Qatar using Avios) where one of closest friends now lives (in Manly). Last time I was in Sydney I caught some awful bug on the flight there and spent half of my trip ill in bed worrying I'd never be allowed on my return flight (I lived in Asia at the time and the airports always had people checking your temperature if you looked ill). Hang out in Sydney for few days then off to the Hunter Valley with my friend for a girl's overnight wine tasting trip.

Then fly to Tasmania and my friend will come too (for the first few days).I LOVE Tasmania but only saw the 'wild North West' on my last trip. So this time it's Hobart and the east coast. Amazing local food and wine (it's a real foodie destination), modern art, boat trips, convict history, stunning scenery and wildlife. And maybe some cycling and off-roading ATV fun. I've rented a Mini Cooper to drive up the coast roads. I have some stunning places booked to stay.

Then on to Adelaide (for the Barossa Valley) and a few days on Kangaroo Island. More driving (I LOVE to drive) and incredible scenery, food & wine and wildlife. Have you noticed there's a theme here? 😝Then back to Adelaide and then fly back to the UK. I will work my way through Qatar's wine list on the way back to get over the trauma of my holiday ending.

Ooh I like these threads. They always make me dream!

I am lucky, my DH retired this year and we were going to go on some big trips but I had to have three operations so lots got cancelled and we did other things instead. So next year we hopefully be our big holiday year.

FlounderingFruitcake · 27/11/2022 17:51

We have Colorado, French alps so 2 lots of skiing, then South of France. I’m going to Spain and Vegas with friends, DH has a walking holiday in Scotland (I’ve definitely got the better deal there 🤣). That takes us to the end of summer. We’ll definitely do something at the end of the year too but undecided.

Icouldbedeadnextyear · 27/11/2022 17:52

So ours next year are slightly crazy

Canada skiing
morocco for a week with grandparents
Indonesian Borneo/Komodo/Bali in summer
Costa Rica Xmas

I am seeing everything while I can!

Icouldbedeadnextyear · 27/11/2022 17:54

Oh and skiing with friends too.

I have planted trees, but I realise it’s somewhat taking the piss environmentally

HotChicolate · 27/11/2022 18:08

I have flights booked to LA and was going to do a mini road trip or visit a few places with internal flights but am now going on a cruise instead. My friend just got back from the states and was telling how expensive everything is and it’s put me off as I won’t be able to relax.
We were in Miami in Feb and a latte in the hotel was costing 10 bucks with a tip and believe me it was impossible not to tip.

oopsfellover · 27/11/2022 18:32

I’m going to Dalyan in Turkey for a week or so in the summer.

woohoowoohoo · 27/11/2022 18:35

Planning 5 days in Krakow with my 15 year old dd in august. Not yet booked

LizzoBorden · 27/11/2022 18:36

Japan in February all being well. Then Morocco in August (yes it will be very hot) and something for my birthday in October - maybe a silent retreat, maybe a yoga holiday.

jamoncrumpets · 27/11/2022 18:39

45 mins from our house by car. V demand avoidant autistic DC and bouncy 4yo. See no point paying to go anywhere fancy so stay right on the beach and just have beach days every day, ice creams, chips.

I know it sounds dull but it's absolutely lovely. You completely switch off.

squashyhat · 27/11/2022 18:47

10 days in Italy for our 30th wedding anniversary in May, then 3 weeks in Japan with friends in September. The Japan trip is much-postponed because of the Pandemic.

Paperdove87 · 27/11/2022 19:17

California with my family and wales with DH's family. Hope we can get a bit of time away the two of us too but realise I'm really lucky and if we don't we don't.
