Following! Want to book a villa for next year but nervous without also being able to secure flights

FoodieToo · 22/09/2022 19:02

I booked mine last year on 25th of September for travel in early July ! So am watching and hoping in the next few days.....
Pretty sure it's late September every year .

Doubleraspberry · 22/09/2022 19:53

Spookily came to start this exact thread so good to see it up already!

We’ve got a family villa holiday booked and everyone else is skipping school and going on the midweek Jet2 flights. We’re waiting for the EasyJet weekend ones in the hope of getting something for less than the £900
per person returns currently available for the half term flights!

ineedhelptostop · 22/09/2022 20:39

I have a date in my head from previous years that 25 September is the release date. That year, we literally watched the prices increase throughout the day as demand increased. Need to book as soon as they come out

Yes pretty sure I booked on release date , so September 25th it was last year !

Alltheholidays · 22/09/2022 22:02

I’m waiting too!

Alltheholidays · 23/09/2022 08:12

Do you get any notice of when the are going to be released, or do they just appear?

Also does anyone know, do these batch of flights include September?

Justjoinedforthis · 23/09/2022 08:15

Are they cheaper the earlier you book? Or are people just booing early to make sure you have the flights needed?

Doubleraspberry · 23/09/2022 08:23

Cheaper - they only have a certain number of tickets available on each flight at each price so for high demand routes and dates you need to get in quickly for the cheapest.

ineedhelptostop · 23/09/2022 08:53

cheaper the earlier you book. As @Doubleraspberry said, they only have a limited number of tickets at a cheaper price. A few years ago, we were looking to book flights to Turkey. They went up by the hour and day from the release date. I know a few people who stay up till all hours to book as soon as the flights are released. The price goes up by demand too. You need to get in early to secure the price !

@Alltheholidays no notice, you have to keep checking. I know people who are waiting from midnight on the day of the expected release date

@ineedhelptostop Thank you. Need to be on my toes then😮

Shinyandnew1 · 23/09/2022 10:17

This is one of my most stressful days of the year!

Generally cheaper earlier on high demand routes..

Sometimes cheaper later on less popular routes, especially out of season - pricing can be a dynamic process and a lot depends on sales and projected sales in the time remaining before the flight.

changingmynamenc · 25/09/2022 06:51

I also thought they were out today, but it seems not for this year.

Doubleraspberry · 25/09/2022 07:18

Probably tomorrow?

Alltheholidays · 25/09/2022 10:19

Do I need to set my alarm?

Doubleraspberry · 25/09/2022 10:24

EasyJet on Twitter today lying through their teeth and saying no date for the release planned!

Alltheholidays · 25/09/2022 11:55

@Doubleraspberry Why would they lie though?

Doubleraspberry · 25/09/2022 12:44

Because they obviously do know the date. They’re just not announcing it.

FoodieToo · 25/09/2022 17:57

I think tomorrow . I waited up till 12 checking though !!

Alltheholidays · 25/09/2022 18:53

Well if it’s tomorrow, I’ve been tasked with booking four sets of flights as I am the only one who will be home all
day!
Two for me and dh, and two for my dd and her friends/ partner!
No pressure!!😮

Doubleraspberry · 25/09/2022 18:54

I have a similar challenge - I’m the one with time but need to book flights for in-laws on someone else’s card.

Alltheholidays · 25/09/2022 19:00

good luck!!
