@EasterIssland @emmathedilemma
WTF with those prices!!!

Doidontimmm · 06/10/2022 14:51

@emmathedilemma @EasterIssland its the royal highland show here in June but if you pm me I live here and can maybe help find something more reasonable with easy access to city centre!

emmathedilemma · 06/10/2022 14:54

@Doidontimmm i don't need accommodation but was searching on the two weekends before the highland show, prices are crazy

I’ve looked may/June/July all similar prices.

Wow that’s mental!!! Maybe Airbnb could be cheaper?

Thank you everyone in this thread! Just booked return flights for 4 to Palermo next September with speedy boarding and on board cases for £650 which I’m more than happy with!

CorporateBull · 06/10/2022 15:31

Just looked at the prices now for the flights I booked at 6am. Now £200 more each! So definitely worth waking up at 5.45am.

cooolio · 06/10/2022 15:43

The ones I wanted were ridiculous so looking elsewhere now. Does anyone know if Ryanair have any more to add for next summer.

I thought they flew Manchester to Venice all year round but it's only showing until March

Alltheholidays · 06/10/2022 16:37

I didn’t book mine till late morning, and surprisingly they’ve stayed the same price. I’ve just had a look!

pinkhousesarebest · 06/10/2022 16:55

Got return flights from Lisbon to my home city in France for 25 euros each. But the journey out is three times the price- might wait it out.

FoodieToo · 06/10/2022 20:18

I was booking London - Crete but only booked the return leg as thought it was very dear !!

CorporateBull · 06/10/2022 20:22

Ours are up again, just by £30 but that’s £150 for us all. I may get a little obsessed by this.

Hohofortherobbers · 07/10/2022 07:10

Got our flights but they had changed continuously throughout the day. Aug 2023 to Greece was £198 return in the morning then went haywire during the day, bought at £188 return in the evening. Similar price to what I paid in 2020 for summer 2021 flights. Since when was hold luggage £70 for a 23kg item though!!!!! Grrr!!

Quaggainexcelsius · 07/10/2022 07:18

Got another bargain ( I think) yesterday. One adult, two children return flights to Tuscany in half term for £150 for us all.

That is a bloody bargain!!!

How do you make the best of the new flights on sale?

Do you have somewhere you want to go and specifically search for there or dates and then see where you can go on those dates? Or a general search, find a cheap flight and book it ?

I'm interested in going somewhere (warm) with a short transfer the other end - I don't want to be travelling from
Barcelona to costa brava for instance.

Can anyone recommend good places to fly into near to the resort?

VanCleefArpels · 08/10/2022 08:09

I think you need to start with a destination in mind - easyJet literally flies to hundreds of destinations so your question is just too wide to answer. A good start might be to look at easyJet holidays to get an idea of the places that are near their destinations

CorporateBull · 08/10/2022 09:17

We HAD to get flights on specific dates to a specific place for an already booked holiday with family. They got cheaper tickets ages ago as they are flying out of the half term holiday and our half term options per-EasyJet were eye wateringly expensive.

I would suggest NOT going somewhere very touristy with only one airport and ground transport options from others if you want to keep costs down. As you are reasonable people and not my family you’ll probably be sensible!

Anjelika · 08/10/2022 09:55

I had booked accommodation already so had to fly on specific dates. The flights out were very reasonable but the ones coming back were ridiculously expensive. I missed RyanAir's flight release date so was waiting for Easy Jet but I might as well not have bothered. RyanAir were probably the same if not less months after being released.

VanCleefArpels · 08/10/2022 10:36

The reason why the return flights are almost always so much more expensive is that they know you are - literally - a captive audience!

Choconut · 08/10/2022 10:50

Was looking at Split for May half term but was coming up as around £1200 for the 3 of us, 400 each minimum! Looked in summer hols and by finding the best prices using the 3 week view we got the flights for £400, £800 quid less!

We found cheap flights to Spain for half term so swapped the holidays around as were going to go to Spain in the summer hols.

Interestingly our inbound flights were (and remain proportionally) half the price of the outbound.

VanCleefArpels · 08/10/2022 14:43

@CorporateBull are you going for a period less/more than the typical 7/14 days? That’s really interesting!

CorporateBull · 08/10/2022 22:30

Nope, it’s Saturday to Saturday, May half term, prime holiday destination.
