Tui or Jet2?

Just wondered if there was a lean towards either Tui or Jet2 when booking a package holiday for a young family?

Cost is a big factor for us shortly followed by support at the resort should anything go wrong (accident/illness/issues with the hotel when there). I know Tui often say they have a rep at resorts, is the same true for Jet2 or are they purely an online booking company and after that you’re on your own once on holiday?

Any other pros or cons for either would be gratefully received. Looking for next year for our first family holiday abroad with two young children and it’s all a bit overwhelming 🙈

At least if I can start off by narrowing down who to book through I can focus my research on either of their websites.

Wheat is the legroom like on Jet2 for tall people? I don't understand the large bag charges. Do you get an overall reduction on the package price if you don't want to check-in bags.

No reduction if booking a package holiday. We never need to take the full allowance.

We've never used jet2. Tui gets a lot of stick but every time we've used them we've had a really good experience. Not sure if we're just the lucky ones, but I'd happily use them in the future.

Jet2 started at our local airport years ago and we e used them for flights and holidays ever since. I’d recommend them, they seem to care, their prices are good, and their offering is varied .

We usually use BA holidays because they have much better flight times and are generally cheaper. No reps but I have never needed or used a rep. A decent hotel sorts everything out - e.g. when our DC got chickenpox the hotel we were staying in arranged the doctor.

If I was choosing between Tui and Jet 2 it would be Jet 2 all the way. We had one trip with Tui and wasn’t impressed at all. Overpriced and ridiculous charges for extras.

I pay for extra legroom seats if DS2 (6'4") is with us , otherwise it's standard charter cramped size.
There is no large bag charge, luggage is included in the ticket 22kg hold and 10kg hand.
On my recent trip it was so slow getting through border checks at both ends that the luggage was waiting for us.

I wish my nearest airport had Jet2, unfortunately we have to travel 2 hours to Leeds Bradford. I ususally book morning flights and book into an airport hotel for the night before.
