Thought I'd get in early. Booked flights yesterday for July next year as I need something to look forward to!

We’re going to New York in February. It will be the first time we’ve been abroad since before the pandemic. We might go to Spain/Croatia later in the year too.

Sweatingmytiitsoff · 22/07/2022 19:21

Yes. Antalya in June next year. Always book early to give me time to pay it off and I like to know I have places to be

Catsdrool · 22/07/2022 19:21

No but it’s definitely in the planning, looking at lake Garda

NoWordForFluffy · 22/07/2022 19:21

Yep, 5 nights SC in Portugal next October. We're taking the kids out of school for 3 days and couldn't care less (we've never taken them out before)! 😁

poorbuthappy · 22/07/2022 19:25

We rarely go on holiday and I don't know where to start. We're restricted to school holidays so the prices seem astonishing.

Any thoughts? DCs will be 13 and 10. They love to swim. Previously we've been on Eurocamp / Canvas holidays but the prices are extortionate for a self-catering caravan.

HAve you been on the actual campsite’s webpages of those canvas and eurocamp located holidays.
sometimes they have their own tents, gites, mobile homes etc which can be lots cheaper.not always but we’ve been lucky a few times now. Canvas and euro camp sometimes double in comparison.
or looked at your favourite campsites.then look for local gites in the areas.

Yes. The people I travel with let you book the following year in the same accommodation for a small deposit. So I've booked for next May.

During the lockdowns, the company concerned were happy to either refund or put your payment towards another of their holidays.

The company are just fantastic. Owned by a mother and son, they know their properties inside out. And they take such care of their many visitorw @most of whom are repeats customers.

Got one booked for next June. It's this year's holiday moved to next year as DH got Covid 2 days before we were due to go this year (and I got it the day we were due to leave home). Thankfully they transferred the booking.

Flopisfatteningbingforchristmas · 22/07/2022 19:51

Booked a January holiday a couple of months ago.

Tittyhill · 22/07/2022 20:20

Booked Greece for next July.

@JamMakingWannaBe
Mull is amazing. Was there last year and we are going again this year. Trip to Staffa is fab.

Thanks @CheeseTopping
We can probably afford the accommodation and attraction entry costs for the week - it's the additional transport costs. Mull is so well recommended on here we'd just really like to go before it's truly unaffordable.

Also saving for a trip to Iceland in 2027.

ChimChimeny · 22/07/2022 21:05

We booked a cruise for august at about 500 days out 😁 just need to book flights from 11 months out

BitterTits · 22/07/2022 21:06

£1.5k a might for that Villa Murat 😯

FrostyGirl66 · 22/07/2022 21:13

Yeah I booked for next summer back in March!! Price was still good back then.

Racingadmin · 22/07/2022 21:37

Florida next may with my sister and her dc plus my mum . - 9 of us in total aged 65 to 2

Villa prices and car hire are so expensive compared to pre pandemic

MissCalamity · 22/07/2022 21:49

Yes, booked Menorca for next August earlier this year. Glad I did because the prices appear to have rocketed!

billycorn · 22/07/2022 21:50

Booked Barbados in January, can’t wait. Won’t book anything else until early next year,

I was thinking Antalya for a family holiday, have you been before? Do you have any recommendations?☺️

Grackl8 · 22/07/2022 22:09

Yes, the canaries for jan/feb. Also waiting on easyjet flights to be released for June and July next year.

Anotherusernamethisweek · 22/07/2022 22:29

I just booked a villa in Brittany with a pool and a hot tub and I booked the overnight ferry crossing for May half term next year. Pretty pleased with myself.

margotsdevil · 22/07/2022 22:31

Just booked a Med cruise for October. Opted for a top end suite so should be a luxury experience.

Am aware that sounds very frivolous and spoilt however just coming out of a couple of incredibly shit years (before even considering the covid factor - work and bereavement) and DH and I have both just had promotions at work so we're splashing out!

rookiemere · 22/07/2022 22:34

Used free BA companion flight and Airmiles to get free flights to Florence next June ( will leave 17 yr old DS at home).
Also booked a lovely rental for around £500 for the week.
Annoyingly car hire is coming in at 400 euros, but hopefully prices will come down.

Azerothi · 22/07/2022 22:38

We've just come back from Shetland and have booked for next year for Shetland again for 2 weeks and Orkney a week later.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 22/07/2022 22:43

I've got three booked! Budapest in Feb, island hopping in Greece in August and Jamaica in October 😁 Far more than usual but this year we finally bought our house that will see us through to retirement, so are making up for a few years of frugality while we saved!
