Jet2/Tui

Excuse my ignorance but are companies like Jet2 and Tui upmarket or chavvy and downmarket? What sort of holidays do they offer?

@PinkTonic no. I don't mean we are in an all inclusive. I don't drink alcohol and rarely eat more than one proper meal and a snack in a day and so they never seemed like something that would be geared up for me. We sometimes do half board where you get breakfast and another meal included or we just pay as we go. On this occasion breakfast is included. We then pay as we go as one would at a normal restaurant/cafe.

@PinkTonic tbh even here the included breakfast it's a bit unnecessary for me. All I had this morning was a fig and a coffee. The rest of the family enjoy breakfast.

Larnaca Cuprus. I understand what you’re saying but it is the carriers fault that they allowed a group of drunken men to board the flight !

orangeisthenewpuce · 17/07/2022 08:12

Please don't book with jet2. We don't want you on our holiday.

YetAnotherNameChange52 · 17/07/2022 08:25

We're going with Tui next month for a package in what looks like a lovely hotel which includes breakfast because they were offering an NHS discount. So I assume there are many other NHS workers going on those holidays - you may want to steer clear, who knows what we might do!😂

Ryan Air is the airline for you, very discreet and absolutely no chavs

Clearly you are being facetious which means you absolutely know exactly what I am talking about. Some airlines/travel companies attract certain types. Well done inadvertently revealing your judgement at least I'm being honest.

Op get a map of the world, cross off all the destinations that popular companies like Tui fly to and then pick a holiday from the remaining destinations. Simples.
Just beware if you go to the Caribbean your island might not be a go to place for Brit chavs but you might get the USA equivalent which is arguably worse.

Average wealth does not buy exclusivity. Only the ultra rich can really have that.

There's a very mediocre hotel near where I live. They charge ridiculous prices. People pay them because they want to be able to say / show off that they have been there. It's about bragging rights.

What do you constitutes average wealth though. It's all relative

OP posts:
hopeishere · 17/07/2022 10:35

I mean anyone one who can't afford private planes / their own island / yacht etc.

hopeishere · 17/07/2022 10:37

So you obviously have enough money for it. But so do they. So it's average. I assume you're not in the private plane etc category.

Movinghouseatlast · 17/07/2022 10:42

It's all 'resorts' and hotels majoring on all inclusive so if you like that sort of holiday then go for it.

I did flight only with Tui recently and booked my own apartment in a sleepy village. I assume Tui don't do that sort of holiday but I could be wrong.

Movinghouseatlast · 17/07/2022 11:00

If you like service then book boutique hotels rather than a 'resort'. Or look at Club Med and do the adults only option if you really want all inclusive.

Don't go during school holidays if you can avoid it.

Look at Simpsons for villas- they can arrange a private chef. Transfers are not on big buses either.

I wouldn't go on a Tui all inclusive either, I don't see what's wrong with saying that. It's just not my sort of thing.

New money OP? GrinWink

OneCup · 17/07/2022 11:32

The key with holidays if you don't want to be disturbed by people - any people- is to book a private place. I am not too fussed about flights as it is only a few hours.

Sweettruelies · 17/07/2022 11:36

Off topic -isn’t ‘chav’ originally a racist term against the Romany community? It’s not nice,OP. I don’t associate with people who use that term, far worse than people who wear vests imo

But why are we talking money? I think I've made it pretty clear that I don't care a joy how much or little money people have. It's brash, loud, tacky behaviour I am trying to avoid. But people on MN are so overly concerned about money that they can't think I could mean anything but rich/poor. I am sure there are millions of lovely hard working people if modest means who would equally dislike holidaying with loud, tacky, gaudy people

I have no problem with money new or old. So no, I am not complaining about 'new money'. I am saying I don't want to holiday with tacky, loud, brash, in your face people with
...and I'm going to say it.... screeching common voices.

Possibly but not conclusively. It's one theory of the etymology of the word
