Jet2/Tui

Excuse my ignorance but are companies like Jet2 and Tui upmarket or chavvy and downmarket? What sort of holidays do they offer?

I think you’d be better off staying at home. God forbid you mix with us riff raff.

KangarooKenny · 16/07/2022 16:42

I like TUI, I’ve always felt looked after when I go away with them.
Ive only ever had flight only with Jet2 and it felt cheap.

NCHammer2022 · 16/07/2022 16:43

Jet2 have always been great for us and I consider myself pretty firmly middle class, but you’d best give them a swerve OP, you don’t want to risk it.

MajorCarolDanvers · 16/07/2022 16:48

Please don't book with either. It's not fair on everyone else to have to travel with you.

User6286509 · 16/07/2022 16:51

Goady post

You’re trying really hard to appear well travelled and non working-class in your posts yet you claim to of never heard of places Jet2 travel to. So Spain, France, Italy, Croatia, Portugal, Greece & Cyprus in the main.
Shot yourself in the foot there, dear.

Also, the fact you don’t know an aeroplane to Spain carries people all travelling to Spain almost made me spit out my coffee. What a twat 😂

Not countries duh, particular resorts I have never heard of. They don't appear in the listings of ITC, elegant Resorts etc but look nice . So no foot shooting going on thanks.

@skeemee main carriers have all manner of people for sure. But my impression of charter flights is that MOST people are a bit 'common' for want if a better word. Maybe that's because like a pp said, the marketing seems aimed at a lower economic group

That's my question answered then in a normal non offended defensive manner. You find Tui great. Jet2 cheap. Thanks for being an adult.

5 minutes on their websites would tell you what sort of holidays they offer

marmitecake · 16/07/2022 17:51

Well we are setting off to the airport in about 7 hours on a Jet2 Holiday and we are DEFINITELY downmarket Smile

anybloodyname · 16/07/2022 17:53

Please feel free to never fly Jet 2
I do regularly and would absolutely hate to offend you with my working class self
I mean ... I like to relax , have a laugh and scoff all the Cadbury fingers on the plane with a crap coffee in a paper cup so ... if you see me ... please move along

Maybe the back of the plane could drop you somewhere else ?

anybloodyname · 16/07/2022 17:54

Have a lovely holiday @marmitecake ! 🍹

I've just got back this morning from a tui holiday and going out the plane was full of excited, happy families looking forward to their holidays and coming back it was full of content, tanned, happy families who have just had a lovely week in the sun.

You sound like a judgemental snob and I wouldn't recommend them to you purely because I wouldn't want to be sat by a dick like you on a plane.

Agree! We went to Menorca with Jet 2 and flew back a week ago. Plane was full to capacity with families with young children, teenage children, older couples, single travellers all going on their holidays. Quite obviously everyone on that flight is going to Menorca, when we arrived we all went our separate ways to our separate accommodation. No "rowdy louts" and no "muscle tanks". But then again Menorca is not a party destination, is it?

All of the large tour operators like Jet 2 and TUI offer a wide range of holidays from your 2 self catering in Faliraki to the 5 all inclusive somewhere much quieter.

But the OP knows that because everyone who has been on holiday does, just as they know that Ryanair is cheap and cheerful and business class on BA costs a lot more. She just wanted to brag that she goes on EXPENSIVE HOLIDAYS and doesn't slum it with the "louts".

Mangolist · 16/07/2022 17:59

How funny! We book our flights and (quite nice actually) accommodation separately, so go on whatever plane has the right days and times. We done (whisper) Ryanair and Easyjet before, as well as Jet2 (very recently) and basically get on a plane t to get there.

Handy hint: You can avid the rough types but not taking hold luggage so you can run through customs to your private transfer terribly efficiently

Mangolist · 16/07/2022 18:00

*we've done - god how common I sound!

Jet2 is a schedule airline.

It does sometimes get chartered for cunard. Now that's a really rowdy flight 🤣

Aww thanks.

idontevenknowanyonecalledblurb · 16/07/2022 18:10

We book jet2- the best was is to book a private transfer so you don't have to trail
Round all the other hotels.

KnittingNeedles · 16/07/2022 18:11

Gosh yes, all those "for chavs only" destinations which TUI go to.

Aruba
St Lucia
Costa Rica
Goa
Phuket

Go to any of those destinations and it's JUST like an episode of Shameless. Is your lawn not big enough for a runway for your private jet?

lanbro · 16/07/2022 18:12

I usually use jet2, been away with them 3 times this year, and going with Tui next month. You sound like an utter snob to be honest, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Jet2, we've never been delayed, never had bags go missing, always been full amenities on the planes, and they have everything from 2 sc upto 5 AI+

Notthisnotthat · 16/07/2022 18:13

I'm just back from a roudy Jet2 holiday! I was shocked that no one was wearing matching tracksuits and trainers. I looked out of place Grin

backaftera2yearbreak · 16/07/2022 18:16

look at Jet2 holidays and set filters at high price to low price. Some of them are 5/6/7k. But, a word of caution, you will end up on the same flight as the plebs who checked their holidays from low to high instead. The horror.

KnittingNeedles · 16/07/2022 18:16

Agree with this @lanbro - no delays on out outward or inbound flight, generous luggage allowance, really good info and updates by text and through their app.

Although we hadn't booked a private transfer as it was relatively short, we must have been the only party on our flight going to our hotel, so they stuck us in a mini bus on our own. Everything ran smoothly and to time which is pretty much all you can ask for from a holiday company.

You wouldn't like where we were though OP, they were'nt asking for bank statements at check-in so there was no way to prove how affluent it is.

MargotMoon · 16/07/2022 18:18

Why don't you do your own research instead of making judgmental remarks and pissing people off?

Or just book with 'Elegant Resorts'...unless you can't afford it any more...? Is that why you're panicking about having to slum it with the great unwashed? 😆

hopeishere · 16/07/2022 18:22

I found jet2 fine and we are very posh 😉
