Going to France in a couple of weeks and I can't wait! I bloody love French supermarkets but it's been so long since we've been (thanks covid) that I can't remember the cool little things that I should buy. Anyone got any recommendations?

Pain d’epices, yogurts in glass pots, proper chocolate eclairs, madeleines, apericube cheese, mini pizza crackers….. I’m sure I’ll think of more

Apericubes definitely! The reason I go to France on holiday. And lots of wine to go with them. La Roche Mazet is cheap but tastes good.

Duck in a tin! Confit de canard. But I don't think you can bring meat or dairy back to the UK anymore. You can eat with fried potatoes or really make each leg pay its way putting them into pancakes / pitta / wraps.

All the nibbles for drinks parties.

Bottles of syrup/squash in all the flavours.

Re Brexit - as far as I know, UK doesn't restrict what you bring in.
The EU, on the other hand, does have rules on what you can bring in to an EU country from a 3rd country such as UK.
So you'll be fine, OP. Just don't over buy on the alcohol 😂
