Holidays
Last minute all inclusive

Hi
I am going to take my DD13 on a holiday shortly, I'm trying to get somewhere safe for a mum and child, hot, Europe and friendly.
I also don't need to be too specific about dates and can book a few days before to get a good deal
Anyone got any ideas or experience of last minute bookings for good deals and also good places for our needs. Budget up to £2k
CeeJay81 · 14/05/2022 09:56
Have a look on the tui website, they have a last minute section. They also have deals generally. If it's 2k for 2 people that's a good budget. We are going away in just over a week and paid just over that for a family of 4 without doing it last minute. There is so much choice on there. You could get somewhere really nice for that price.
custardbear · 14/05/2022 10:03
Thank you! If I can pay less that would be amazing 😻
Amdone123 · 14/05/2022 21:22
I use onthebeach a lot. I get really good prices. We go to Tenerife. Hot and very friendly.

Love Majorca and Cyprus. Both excellent choices. Greek islands are amazing too.
mrsed1987 · 14/05/2022 21:31
Just be mindful there was an article on BBC news 3 days ago with Tui saying last minute deals are going to be limited as everything is booked up!
CeeJay81 · 14/05/2022 21:37
I'd recomend the Greek Islands especially Crete. Scenic, historical sites, friendly people, fab beaches. Cyprus would also be a great choice.

I priced up Majorca AI last week for end of June/beginning of July. Ryanair had flights to Majorca from teeside from £12.99. Lots of AI deals on travel republic, live holidays, booking.con etc which might work out cheaper. Flight costs will depend on where and when you are flying.
Roastonsun8 · 14/05/2022 21:39
Hi OP if there's just you and your DD. TUI have a single parent code with £200 off. If you happen to work for NHS search TUI NHS heroes you get at least £300 off your booking.
Magic life Hotel look great! I've just book Magic life Masmavi in Antalya for next year I got such a bargain.
There's a Magic life in Italy too. Search TUI it's fab!

Jet2 do package holidays too. Hold luggage and airport transfers included. It’s like going back to how holidays used to be. Before Ryanair got the bright idea about charging for extras, and all the other airlines followed suit. It’s actually a pleasure travelling with Jet2. Almost stress free!
BarbaraofSeville · 15/05/2022 10:18
Second the recommendation for Jet2. There's a AI deals section, so you put in your criteria and see what comes up. For £2k you'd get somewhere really nice.
custardbear · 15/05/2022 10:51
Thank you all - I'll start looking soon if the holidays are booking up - makes sense, no One has been for 2 years!

Paphos in Cyprus is one of my favourite places you’d have a great time there

I was looking there actually! Random question but what's healthcare like? DD has sone MH issues so just want to be sure there's decent healthcare in hotels/on the island

Healthcare in Cyprus is really good. I don’t know specifically about MH provision.
skeemee · 15/05/2022 13:41
I have a £60 off voucher for Jet2 if you decide to book. Can be used in conjunction with the £50pp off offer they have on at the moment. DM me if u want it.

Absolutely fantastic dealing with a physical injury but I dont know about MH I’m afraid!
hippolyta · 15/05/2022 14:31
I've used GP services in Cyprus, excellent. Also worth knowing for MH purposes, there is generally very good English spoken. Make sure you declare her medical history when buying travel insurance.

Look at tui Marella cruises. We've just got a week all inclusive cruise round the med at spring bank for half price. 2 of us £1398.

Wow that's amazing but she'd struggle with the lack of space ... maybe I'll go with DH LOL 😆 tht sounds awesome!
TomAllenWife · 16/05/2022 20:11
Please don't book Marella cruise, it was not a good experience
Travelling alone with dcs I've done for years and would recommend Italy, menorca, Majorca or Cyprus for safety & good healthcare
Not a fan of Greek islands as a woman travelling alone

Thank you @TomAllenWife - Cyprus is different then to Greece? I wondered if they went hand in hand - clearly not
