Hi
I am going to take my DD13 on a holiday shortly, I'm trying to get somewhere safe for a mum and child, hot, Europe and friendly.
I also don't need to be too specific about dates and can book a few days before to get a good deal

Anyone got any ideas or experience of last minute bookings for good deals and also good places for our needs. Budget up to £2k

Marella cruise was a massive success when my DC were teens.
Only make sure you don't have an "inside cabin" as they are like black holes, no natural light.

@custardbear I definitely felt safer in Cyprus than Crete 🤷🏼‍♀️ but that might just be me

I've just got back from a last minute holiday to Ibiza. I would highly recommend using a travel agent. I had previously always booked flights, accommodation etc independently but I cannot state how much a TA just took all the stress away. We went with Jet2 and they were amazing.

Have a great trip.

I will second jet2, been away with them 3 times recently, fab

Thanks all - I've used TUI and Jet2 also so will definitely be using one of these as it's always been simple 😎

@TomAllenWife - you may have had a bad experience but we've done 2 previous cruises with them and had nothing but a first class experience. Horses for courses I guess.

TomAllenWife · 17/05/2022 16:06

@loobylou10 indeed

We found it terrible and wouldn't go again if it was free.
Certainly not on a par with other cruises we've done

I’d recommend TUI holiday villages, they have loads of high ropes courses as well as the usual pools of your teen is into that sort of thing.

Your budget is healthy OP - I wouldn’t hold out for a last minute bargain, I think these are a thing of the past…you tend to be left with the dregs. Instead, go on a website like Tui/First choice where there are no hidden costs for luggage etc and pick a date +/- 7 days, it will bring up good deals to choose from.
