I have been so stupid and only applied last week for me and my son!
We go on holiday mid June and sent it off last week!
Sent out old passports back too and not showing as received yet!
Serves me right for been disorganised!
Anyone waiting with me?

Does anyone know if the passport office is working weekends

DDs child to adult renewal has just taken 3 weeks. Applied online with digital code photo. Old passport sent and tracked with royal mail - it took about 10 days from arrival at PP office to registering it as having arrived! However approval of new PP only took about a week following that. Was a bit surprised to have the new one delivered by a Deliveroo driver!!

Did adult renewal for DH and DD’s first adult passport on 1st May, both online applications. DH went to Corby office and DD’s went to Belfast. Sent old passports on 3rd May signed delivery.
DD’s application; they received the old passport on 8th May and then it went to being processed on 9th May and has sat like this since.
DH’s application; they received the old passport 17th May (despite Royal Mail tracking showing signed for on 5th May). Application was approved 19th May and passport printed on 20th May. It never went to “processing”
I know it’s only been 2 weeks but I’m a bit worried that my DD’s passport has got stuck. I read on another thread somewhere that if your application shows as being processed then it has been pulled off the digital pathway because it requires manual intervention. And this tends to be when you get delays and your application failing to progress. Has anyone else found this to be the case? I’m worried that DD’s application might need a counter-signature given that it’s her first adult passport and she was 12 in her last photo (not that she’s changed massively) and this hasn’t been reported back to us.

Is it worth me calling them or do I just need to wait? We aren’t travelling until the beginning of August.

We are in a similar situation time-scale wise. Applied online 8th May for Dd1 child to adult and dd2 child renewal. Sent old passports off the following day by recorded delivery. One was to Durham office, the other Liverpool. Both tracked as delivered on 11 May. DD1 status online still showing ‘send passports to us’, DD2 is being processed as of 17th but we were asked to send her birth certificate which we did a couple of days ago.

So, no idea what’s happening with DD1 first adult passport, DD2 is at least showing some progress. We travel on 4th August…

@newnamenellie that was the same for DH’s passport. For over 2 weeks it was showing as if they hadn’t received old passport but then once it did it moved very quickly. Whereas DD’s was updated to processing very quickly but has now sat seeming to do nothing with no requests for additional action from us.

@Rollergirl11 fingers crossed for your daughter’s one turning up soon. Do stressful!

Isolated101 · 23/05/2022 19:04

I waited the full 10 weeks for my daughters renewal, called last Friday and they said I’d get a call back, I missed the call back but thankfully update today to say approved! Not dispatched yet though - just relieved I didn’t book our holiday before getting it back.

newnamenellie · 27/05/2022 15:00

@Rollergirl11 have you had any luck yet?

Our older daughter's child to adult renewal has been approved today, so a quick turnaround in the end (application date 8th May). Younger daughter's child renewal, sent her birth certificate end of last week as requested, not acknowledged yet. Been told to give it three weeks! Needs to go to the examiner once it's scanned in apparently, doesn't sound promising...

We are still waiting here..13wks! For a renewal where both parents have full uK passports it’s ridiculous! I’ve chased yet again I’m just hoping they haven’t lost it!

MermaidSwimmer · 24/06/2022 08:02

Thank you for the escalation email address on here as we finally after 13weeks got my daughters renewed passport back. Only after I emailed multiple times ridiculous.
I need to do the other child’s renewal in Sept bloomin hope they have a better system in place by then!
