Passport waiting time

Hi,
Could anyone give me an idea of timescale of child's first passport delivery - applied on the 7th March - docs sent off signed for on 8th only acknowledged receipt on Wednesday- starting to stress - 1st holiday in 6 years ..... going very end of May hoping will be enough time?? 😵💫 x

Would love to hear how you all get on. We are still waiting for a first passport (holiday in 3 weeks) and I’m thoroughly depressed at the thought of missing our holiday- not to mention the money wasted! So fed up!

Can anyone let me know how long it took for TNT to deliver the passport once it was with them? The date on the tracker keeps moving and we’re hoping to travel on 24th

Ours arrived! But it's honestly been so stressful with the process especially as after we applied it came out about all the issues and backlog.
Timeline is
applied 12th March online with confirmation of identity documents posted same day.
Documents accepted 29th March
Application approved 8th April
Info that passport printed and to tnt 13th April
Delivered 14th April
I didn't recieve a email from tnt until this morning but used the application number minus the PEX to track and call TNT passport line I got through to speaking to someone quickly by saying instructions on the automated system as our house is difficult to find.

Just had notification finally that my son’s first passport has been approved. At last !

No news on the other new passport yet but I applied for that a week after this one...
Hello! My application is following the same pattern as you! I applied on 21st March, documents received on 5th April but no new update as of today!
Could you let me know when your progresses to the next stage? And I will do the same?

I posted mine 2 weeks ago, documents have been signed for but it's not showing yet as having been received. Name change after divorce as well - how long do I have? Would like to book a holiday but not risking it til it comes back !

Sorry jus read back looks like possibly get it back early May, fingers crossed! Not sure how much time a name change adds but they've got my birth certificate so can't see an issue

Heres our timeline so far… It really seems to be luck of the draw!
Child renewal application submitted 29th March
Documents sent 30th March
Documents received 5th April
Application approved 8th April
Passport printed 13th April - not arrived yet!
Child’s first passport application submitted 29th March
Documents sent 30th March
Documents received 8th April
And crickets since then! We haven’t booked anywhere as I was too nervy, but have A/L end of May so crossing my fingers!

Ok so I sent my docs signed for 4 April and they were signed for on the 7th but they're not showing as received yet . Helpful to know that's the waiting bit though and it's quick once they're received ta!

I phoned today on the off chance and they where actually open! I asked for an update on my application. The girl was lovely, the most helpful person I have had yet. She told me that it is currently up to 11 working days from the documents are showing as received! I told her I was flying on the 5th May and if there was anything I could do.
She said I can apply for an upgrade no earlier than 2 weeks before I travel (she asked her supervisor if she could just do it now as it was so close but they wouldn’t let her). She said this upgrade is not guaranteed and is a case by case basis but well worth a try! I have called before and spoke to 2 different people who couldn't care less and gave me contradicting information! So fingers crossed 🤞🏽

Sorry I read that again & it may be a little confusing! I mean she said it is currently up too 11 working days from the documents show as received until the next update!

That's what I was thinking too! Yes I am because they normally don't speak to you the first call you make and you have to wait on a call back the following day! So even when I phone I don't think anything will actually happen on Thursday! Today was an exception.. maybe they were quiet because of Easter Sunday!

I applied for my upgrade today as we are supposed to fly on 2nd May. It’s expensive though if it gets approved for the upgrade.
I applied on 1 March (lost my old one)
identity verified 2nd March
Photo rejected on15th March
New photo submitted 16th March
Then nothing but managed to speak to them, photo verbally confirmed and application upgrade requested. Just waiting to hear back within 2 days if the upgrade is accepted or not so crossing everything. Supposed to be going away for our wedding anniversary, first year we’ll be able to since Covid.

My daughter first one took just under 5 weeks we applied at the end of February.
The delivery is very random and you may never get a message saying its out for delivery and will just turn up one day!

I’m currently trying to hunt down DD’s supporting documents as they haven’t come back from the passport office. Keep trying to call them and keep getting an automated message to say they are too busy to answer their phones. FFS

DHL (not TNT) just delivered my child's First Passport. So it looks like we're going to Germany after all. Sadly missed Easter but at least we're going.
Our time line was:
10/3 applied
12/3 application accepted
28/3 documents received (Royal Mail confirmed documents received way earlier of course)
6/4 application approved (after asking for two identity checks)
12/4 printed
19/4 received today plus message from DHL this morning saying it's on the way)
