Sorry if this is a stupid question but can you order a day 2 test before your holiday so you get it in time or do you need to time it so it's delivered on day 2?

KnottyKnitting · 30/10/2021 23:22

We ordered ours about 5 days before we returned home.

mommydragonn · 31/10/2021 12:53

We take our day 2 test today... tried to sign up to Randox app using two separate emails and have had no success. I just can't get into the App... feels like such a con and money making scheme. We are just going to do our tests and keep pictures of the results. Plus like someone mentioned up thread, need to scan your passport to sign up to Randox.

Longdistance · 31/10/2021 13:04

We got our negative test after about two minutes. No ones looked at my email that quickly. No one is going to send in a positive test. Yes, I’d say it’s a con.

NCTDN · 01/11/2021 08:25

When I filled in the return to uk form, there was nowhere to put DCs reference numbers for the tests. I'm so annoyed at how much money I could have saved Hmm

moveblues · 01/11/2021 10:05

Can I order LFTs for my whole party? I assume so but I'm a bit confused Blush

specialsauce · 01/11/2021 10:29

@moveblues Boots do a family one where you can order 6 at once. However, beware: they all get posted to one address and by day 2 our families were 50 miles apart and we needed to scan the test qr codes then do test then upload photos of the results. My OH did a lot of driving that day!

For most of them do you need to order individually then? It doesn't seem very clear! Just need two for me and my DH

specialsauce · 01/11/2021 10:44

Yes most of the test centres want you to order one at a time - such a pain in the a!

ChristopherTracy · 01/11/2021 16:30

When we flew back at the weekend they looked at our PLFs at the gate (if we had checked in bags they would have done it then) but at Gatwick it was just the auto gates and no checking.

Randox codes worked perfectly btw - you get one for each test you've ordered in the same order.

Longdistance · 01/11/2021 19:53

@NCTDN yes, there wasn’t a space to add dc tests, only one for the code the adult.

Dutchesss · 01/11/2021 20:58

We arrived home on Saturday and had four LFTs from Testing For All.

We had to use an separate email address for each person, we couldn't add the children using our own email addresses. I used my mum's email address to complete the admin for one of my children.

So far both me and my mum have received an email telling us that test results are available but we have both received the circle of doom when trying to log back in to Testing For All. As we had just one line I'm going to assume we are all negative.

NCTDN · 03/11/2021 20:03

We got back and did our pcr tests yesterday. Results back and all negative. Then got a phone call from track and trace as we've been identified as close contacts which I can only presume is the plane. So less than 24 hours later we've had to do another one!

Longdistance · 03/11/2021 22:21

@NCTDN that’s exactly what we had. I had a text and email, filled in the form. T&T said they only had my email address so had to repeat my details.

moveblues · 04/11/2021 11:13

Does the PLF need to be printed or can it be shown on phones?

NCTDN · 04/11/2021 11:51

I printed everything as it made getting through the airport quicker than the people scrolling through on their phones.

Crochetandcoffeebreaks · 04/11/2021 14:34

I'm booking mine with Testing for All now for me and DS - do I add 2 to the basket and it will provide 2 separate codes or do I need to pay for them 1 at a time?

WhatHaveIFound · 04/11/2021 14:36

Yes, I used C19 Testing and their confirmation email came through with two different codes for DH and my passenger locator forms.
Crochetandcoffeebreaks · 04/11/2021 15:49

I decided to risk it and bought both together - only given one code :( has anyone else used T4A and were able to complete PLF with the same codes?

moveblues · 04/11/2021 17:50

Also interested in the responses to this.....!!! We bought two from tests for all
Dutchesss · 04/11/2021 18:18

We booked four tests in one go on Testing for All and me and my husband filled out our forms with no problems. I put the children on my form.

Hoppinggreen · 04/11/2021 18:23

We flew back from Faro last Sunday
To answer a few questions
We ordered the day 2 tests on Thursday and they were delivered to my neighbour on Friday. We filled in 2 PLFs, DH put the DC on his. We put the test codes into the PLFs. There was a code per test
He sent both PLFs to me on WhatsApp so they were easily available to show on my phone .
We showed the PLFs at check in but not on arrival in Liverpool or anywhere else.
We did the day 2 tests yesterday and had emails confirming we were negative but nobody official has been in touch at any point so I dint know what would have happened if we hadn’t.

Crochetandcoffeebreaks · 04/11/2021 19:46

Thanks @dutchesss!

tumpymummy · 07/11/2021 18:28

To also update. I spent ages checking I was doing the right thing before we returned from holiday in Spain last monday. Complete waste of time and money, noone checks! I ordered 3 lateral flow tests for myself, DH and DD17 from randox. I ordered them separately so we got 3 different Randox test codes, on Tues 26th Oct (using a code, I think it was FLYRYANAIR, but EASYJET2021 also works). Each test was therefore £21.50. They were delivered to our home while we were on holiday. I got a photo from the delivery company of our front door to show they had been delivered. Our letter box is quite small but they fitted through (as in individual packages). I completed the UK passenger locator forms approx 40 hours before we were due to fly back. They were quite straight forward, but there was nowhere to put daughter's Randox test code (she was on my form as under 18) so that was a complete waste of money buying her a test. When we went to board our flight home (in Spain) the Ryanair staff asked us if we had completed the forms. They did not check them (they were on our phones), they took our word for it. When we arrived back in the Uk (Bristol) I thought there would be somewhere after immigration checking our paperwork (like there was on arrival in Spain). There wasn't. We walked straight out of the airport. No checks whatsoever. On Day 1 evening we did our lateral flow tests (exactly the same as the ones daughter and I have been doing regularly for months because of school/college). I uploaded a photo of each test to the Randox app then a few hours later I was able to view certificates confirming we were negative. But at no stage has anyone checked these certificates. We have been back a week now. Complete farce and waste of £64 (3 tests), and time. I'm all for testing. I have done lateral flow tests for months twice weekly because I work in a school. But it is clear that Randox and all these over companies are just run by Boris's mates, money in their pockets, with no checks whatsoever on who is coming in to the country. Now I know what to do it is straight forward but I'm angry.

Lemonsole · 08/11/2021 19:10

@tumpymummy that totally mirrors my experience - Randox, teenage child, lack of checks, and all.

I'm angry.

I don't resent the PCR needed to get my child into Spain; they used it for its intended purpose by checking the documentation.

The English, on the other hand - scammers.
