List has been released- who to book with? Anyone used testing for all?

We've been back from Spain 2 days and we've taken our day 2 lateral flow tests, which are negative. The process to report this information to the company we bought the tests from is proving difficult. Issues with scanning QR codes. Goodness, they want so much data too. Much of which we would have provided to purchase the tests. Passport number? What are these companies doing with our data? Do these companies not do any admin for their fee? As far as I can tell, all they do is send out an overpriced lft.

Do they report back to the government even? Will it be noticed if we don't?

I don't know how anyone with information literacy issues or English as a second language would manage to complete these forms.

Oh, and like the posters below, no-one checked anything when we re-enter Ed the UK and we flew in to a small, empty, regional airport. When we entered Spain, they scanned our QR codes on our DD's negative pcr report, and our covid passports, and double checked the dates on the actual downloaded file of mine.

Lemonsole · 27/10/2021 13:46

@NCTDN I'm taking about entry to the UK, not to Spain. Teenagers need a PCR to enter Spain, as their single jabs don't count as being fully vaccinated (because they're not)
Coming into the UK, though, those same teenagers are treated as though they have been fully vaccinated, so no PCR needed.

I can see why the agent was confused.

@TillyDevon this from gov website.

Day 2 Lateral flow
TillyDevon · 27/10/2021 16:39

smogsville that is particularly kind, I wonder if I hadn’t updated the page or something . Thank you.

It’s frustrating to have to pay so much when our DC have lateral flow tests waiting at home they are about to take for school anyway ! From what people say it does feel tempting to buy two out of four and use our ones at home if the codes don’t seem to matter but I guess we’d better do it properly. So much extra expense...

smogsville · 27/10/2021 17:03

@TillyDevon I'm not now sure if the codes don't work properly - we did have to enter our individual codes for each test when registering the results so not sure if you could have re-used them or if Testing For All's system would have registered the subterfuge. I am all mouth no trousers on this sort of thing if I think there is a chance of getting caught - I grumble and complain and then invariably wimp out and then do what I'm supposed to do at the end of the day.

Longdistance · 27/10/2021 18:50

So, I filled the Uk locator form in. What a crock of shit 💩
I added myself and dds and gave up adding dh, so he did his own who said ‘ffs! This is ridiculous!’
It wouldn’t take my vaccine information. I’ve got it on the app, in my iPhone wallet and a printed version. You never know 🙄

Lemonsole · 27/10/2021 19:08

@Longdistance I think that it's rejecting a lot of people's second vaxx information.
It is a totally performative waste of time and crock of shit.

Nobody cared at LHR on Sunday.

I can't understand why it refuses to read docs with 2 qrs and yet the nhs produces a doc with both docs! it's crap thaat it doesnt work for our own country!

Lemonsole · 27/10/2021 21:43

@EasterIssland and it's equally crap that this discrepancy on the plf isn't even checked or challenged. The Spanish showed more interest in my vaccinations than the Brits.

It's a disgrace.

I have no problems with hoop jumping if it's actually helping to keep covid out. All it does is place a huge tax on those who follow rules, while letting everybody else in anyway.

Lemonsole · 27/10/2021 21:46

And the biggest irony for me is that, having had a positive covid test at the start of October, my £25 LFT is one that, medically-speaking, I should not have taken anyway, but a recent recovery certificate doesn't exempt you from the LFT.

Of course it won't: that wouldn't make money for all of those private companies who love their license to print money.

KnottyKnitting · 27/10/2021 21:54

We have booked LFT with Lateralbio. £19 each. Already been delivered ready for our arrival home in the next few days. Also have the code for the PL form.

Longdistance · 28/10/2021 02:17

Only in Faro they asked about the passenger locator form. They couldn’t give a hoot at Luton airport. Though, there was only two passport control officers. Took forever to get through. Those over 12 could do the biometric passports.

GreySweater · 29/10/2021 17:15

When we arrived back in UK on Monday (& hadn't been able to attach our vaccine certificates to the UK PLF despite trying several times), we weren't asked to show proof of vaccination at Heathrow. They didn't want to see anything other than our passports....
Since then we have done our Day 2 tests (all negative) and I asked DH to upload it all because I'm done with all the form filling. He tried and gave up as apparently it was a total nightmare (he isn't the most patient). I haven't had time to try and work it out (our day 2 was Weds) and so it remains un-uploaded... Anyone just never bothered uploading at all? And we're there any consequences? Confused

TillyDevon · 29/10/2021 18:39

greysweater that’s a good question I’d love to know the answer to too. We have 4 tests waiting to take tomorrow .

TillyDevon · 29/10/2021 18:41

Ps we weren’t asked for vaccine proof at Heathrow either. Passport queue still took absolute hours!

EasterIssland · 29/10/2021 20:53

Do you have to upload the result ?

Longdistance · 29/10/2021 21:09

We uploaded the results this evening, but I had a text earlier this afternoon telling me I was in direct contact with a positive case. I can only think on the plane as we haven’t been out yesterday as got back late. Then went out this morning and got the text later on.

EasterIssland · 29/10/2021 21:48

Where do you have to upload it to? I’ve never done it in my 3 trips abroad

Longdistance · 29/10/2021 22:26

It’s the LFT companies website. We had QR codes on our boxes that uploaded to their website and followed their instructions.

Freetodowhatiwant · 29/10/2021 22:38

Confession - when I came back into the country at the end of august our Day 2 PCR tests using Expert Medicals didn’t arrive until day 6. By then I just could not be arsed with doing the tests (we had already had to do others for work) so didn’t get around to it. No one checked.

Longdistance · 29/10/2021 22:44

@Freetodowhatiwant we weren’t going to do them, then I got the messages so thought we’d better do them, otherwise, we wouldn’t have bothered Blush

EasterIssland · 29/10/2021 23:40

Thx! Thought I had to Tell the government.
Longdistance · 30/10/2021 04:18

@EasterIssland when we did the government passenger locator forms we added the test codes, but that’s as far as it got. If the government want the results, they can whistle as it took long enough to do each one individually. I think they’d want to know if it was positive though. We were all negative.

GreySweater · 30/10/2021 08:06

We have decided not to upload the Day 2 test results because it is such a faff. And as someone posted down the thread, not only a faff but seems like waaaay too much info required by these health companies (more passport details etc Hmm).
We are all negative and decided ourselves to do another LTF yesterday (day 4) - negative again.
And given the total disregard for us showing our vaccine certificates at Heathrow, seems like the government couldn't give two shits anyway.

KnottyKnitting · 30/10/2021 22:53

We flew back from Faro this morning. Ryan air wanted to see the vacc cert and the locator form.
At Stansted no one looked at these and we came out through the biometric gate. We have e LFTs but not sure I can be bothered to upload them. All seems a bit of a farce...
