Due to holiday on Greek Island in 2 weeks. Really anxiety inducing, anyone in the area boat or can offer reassurance?

@Delatron

Thanks *@BabyYoda9* I’m thinking of using Chronomics. Is it a package you book or all tests separately? Thanks.
There are different packages you can get from them - green gives you your test to fly home and a day 2 test, which I've had to get for my DS8 because I couldn't see an option to just get a day 2 test for him. Amber gives you the above plus a day 8 test.
@BabyYoda9 is it warm enough out there? Grin
Where abouts in Zante are you. We are due soon and I'm just starting to get excited.

Anyone else do a mad clean of the house like there isn't enough else to do before going away.
Currently taking a break from cleaning the oven.
It is so hot, I am just living in the pool! 😂 Beautiful place though, we're in Tsilivi.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 03/08/2021 08:18

Giving myself something else to worry about now - the heat 🥵. We’re flying out on Sunday - what’s it like at the moment? Map in the news looked like 40 😳

Carrotcakeforbreakfast · 03/08/2021 08:22

Well I'm still waiting for my tests from chronomatics.
Ordered well over a week ago.
Had a dispatch email Saturday AND yesterday which makes me think there is a gremlin in their system and no further update.
No email from DPD etc.

Going in less than 48 hours. Getting nervous.

I ordered from Chronomics last Thursday. Got an email on Sat saying DPD was delivering on Monday and then got an email from Chronomics on Monday saying they were just dispatched. They have literally arrived right now (9am Tues). Have faith and hopefully they will be with you soon! In the worst case scenario if they don’t turn up you can always source them in Greece (not ideal I know). X
curlyLJ · 03/08/2021 09:29

Does anyone know if you can get the LFTs/rapid test for coming home easily over in Greece or is it best to order and take with you?

We go to Kefalonia next week and DH thinks we should just get the tests done out there, but I'm a worrier and I like to know we have everything sorted 😬

FizzyPink · 03/08/2021 09:53

I think it depends who you’re flying with. Most resorts have a doctor who will come to your hotel or there’s health centres easily accessible.

We’re booked with TUI and are both double jabbed so I booked ours through Chronomics for £20 each for a fit to fly and then day 2. The fit to fly is just a lateral flow you take a photo of and upload to their website so seems quicker than finding somewhere when you’re out there.

Delatron · 03/08/2021 10:09

We’re going on the 14th and was going to order from Chronomics today but need LFT for 12 year old to arrive by the 12th latest. With a week for delivery that doesn’t sound good. Hope they turn up soon.

Any other companies with quicker turnarounds? Over a week for delivery seems too long.

Hazeyday · 03/08/2021 10:22

Hi,

C19testing.co.uk say they dispatch same day and deliver DPD next day. They get mostly good reviews. Going to use them for Greece - kids going out the way and all of us on the way back.

greywell · 03/08/2021 12:01

Regarding testing while away- there are local clinics that charge 20 euros in the main resorts. They also go to the larger hotels. We took ours with us as the resort was too far away. It's worth bearing in mind as an emergency option though.

Delatron · 03/08/2021 12:21

Thanks @Hazeyday will look at C19.

Sunshine2007 · 03/08/2021 14:09

@AvonCallingBarksdale I’m in Zakynthos and it’s hot as hell if you try and do anything other than lie on a sun lounger by the pool. A local told us it should get back to normal temps after Thurs.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 03/08/2021 15:33

@Sunshine2007 thank you! Hope you’re enjoying your holiday.

No1HolidayPlanner · 03/08/2021 16:53

Going to Crete tomorrow.. can't wait.. both adults double jabbed and teenagers had negative lateral flows today.. I finally believe we will get there!!Smile

MsTSwift · 03/08/2021 17:01

I would love to go but sooo many teens here are testing positive two friends teens both have in last week so on balance glad we not risking it. Having to quarantine with two stroppy teens is not worth it. If just double jabbed Dh and I would risk it.

GrealishHairband · 03/08/2021 17:11

DD had one negative and one mildly positive LFT today so hopefully this is the corner turning and she will properly test negative on the fit to fly in 12 days time.

Assuming we haven’t caught it from her in the meantime.

So stressful.

Delatron · 03/08/2021 21:32

So looking at C19.
Rapid antigen test for DS 12, two days before departure £29.
Then we order 4 more of these to take with us @£29 each to do before the return trip home.
Then 4 PCRs for day 2 after we return? @£99 each?
Does that sound right? Sorry I’m getting very confused!
Two double jabbed adults, DS12, DS11

MsTSwift · 03/08/2021 21:54

Just heard of 2 more families whose teens have it 🙁. One family got tested positive at airport and had to turn round and come home…

Dontrainonmyparade · 03/08/2021 22:08

Posting from Zakinthos. We are here. Relatively stress free, everything seemed correct and airport and flight were v quiet. Plenty of people who still don’t grasp how they should wear their mask Hmm and/or are incapable of following basic instructions. But honestly we are really glad to be here and looking forward to a long awaited break!
Enjoy your holidays all!

morbidhamster · 03/08/2021 22:38

UK airports aren't testing at departure are they?
We will LFT anyway on the morning of flight, and would be happy if everyone had to do that before boarding. At least that would avoid being whisked off to the quarantine hotel on arrival.

Summersdreaming · 03/08/2021 22:50

@GisburnLand

Just want to cry, DC has tested positive, stuck here in Greece. He is so ill, we want to go home.
Oh no Sad how are you all doing? Have you been able to stay in your accommodation or moved?
ilkleymoorbartat · 03/08/2021 22:55

Just to ask again, sorry, but so we need to test before our flight? We're off to Spain and double jabbed with 2 dc (5&6).

Will obviously lateral flow ourselves at home, but confused as to whether we need to pay for some too?

greywell · 03/08/2021 23:14

I think Spain does ask for a test. It will need to be a private one, not NHS.

poshme · 04/08/2021 06:00

@ilkleymoorbartat no- if you are vaccinated no test required, nor for under 12s.

It's all here www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/spain/entry-requirements

Remmy123 · 04/08/2021 07:24

@MsTSwift oh no!

We will be semi isolating before we go / take toddler out of nursery etc
