I can't really be arsed going too far but it would be LOVELY to get away overnight somewhere countrysidish or coastish. or lochish.

any nice child-friendly hotels or B&Bs nearish to Glasgow? i'm not sure i can be arsed driving for more than a couple of hours? Loch Lomond? Will we freeze to death? (i don't understand the countryside...)

Just one night? Hoseasons had some cottages on LL, and also some log cabins with a hot tub outside, but I think min. would be 3 nights.

AitchTwoOh · 10/11/2007 23:50

hot tub? oh that would be great. i think that we'd be pushing it at three nights (that would be like a month off for us...) but maybe we could try?

I'll get a link of the place with the hot tub unless you find it first - I can't remeber how I found it, I get abit lost sometimes on their site.

LadyOfWaffle · 10/11/2007 23:53

www.hoseasons.co.uk/productSite.aspx?ClassCode=LP2411&HolidayTypeName=ScoParks that was one.

LadyOfWaffle · 10/11/2007 23:55

www.hoseasons.co.uk/productSite.aspx?ClassCode=LP3116&HolidayTypeName=ScoParks I am sure you're finding these anyway!

AitchTwoOh · 11/11/2007 00:04

wow that looks amazing. i'll buzz them in the morning. the idea of a pub 5 mins away selling food is good, i don't want to be cooking...

I went to one in Yorkshire, Farweather Grange for my 21st and it was really good, even though it was freezing the hot tub was amazing and I would never go anywhere without one again (if I can help it!)

AitchTwoOh · 11/11/2007 00:06

perth one is nearer... will there be far too much space fr just three of us?

LadyOfWaffle · 11/11/2007 00:07

Isn't it 2 bedrooms?

AitchTwoOh · 11/11/2007 00:08

most say sleeps 4-6, so yes... i really am not very good at this, am i? can you see why we never get away?

LadyOfWaffle · 11/11/2007 00:08

one double, one twin. If it's like the one I went to they are very cosy, not like a 2 bed cottage, but open plan cabin thing.

LadyOfWaffle · 11/11/2007 00:09

The VIP (the top one) is the one with the hot tub.

LadyOfWaffle · 11/11/2007 00:10

O, they are 2 storey so will be quite big ish I guess.

LadyOfWaffle · 11/11/2007 00:11

The Argyll one has a sauna too!!

AitchTwoOh · 11/11/2007 00:24

i rather doubt we can afford the VIP one. that blimmin' site keeps making my computer crash, hence the delay.

And I'll give you a cuppa if you come up to mine

HairyIrene · 11/11/2007 15:08

central scotland...

stirling and surrounds (castle, cobbly streets, bit of civilisation if you want it!) battle of bannockburn, wallace monument
and callender, the trossachs
is nice for touring round

wrap up, have fun!

AitchTwoOh · 11/11/2007 17:12

thanks bobsmum... have you a spare bedroom as well?
i think we are now looking at Stirling quite seriously, although the lodge thing is tempting as it might be a bit shit to be stuck in a room with dd all night... anyone know if the country park/safari thing is still open?

AitchTwoOh · 11/11/2007 22:16

oh crap, i meant to bump this earlier and now it's only the drunks who are up...

Oh, come to St Andrews, Aitch. You know you want to.

Habbibu · 11/11/2007 22:22

And I'm painfully sober (if on a sugar high from finishing the packet of chocolate caramel digestives that my darling daughter had to be prised away from).

AitchTwoOh · 11/11/2007 22:42

it's on our list, but DH is Scared of Fife.

OP posts:
Habbibu · 11/11/2007 22:53

Which bits, Aitch? I'm scared of Glenrothes, but the North East is like a different country.

Habbibu · 11/11/2007 22:54

PS Come back and pick pretty shoes for JoFan's hallway
