Where can I find an EXPERIENCED travel nanny to fly London - Sydney - London?????????????????

I'd rather not pay a recruitment agents fee, I've searched google, and still nothing......

I need an experience nanny who has the experience of entertaining my 2 year old son for the flight from London to Hong Kong (stay over night) then Hong Kong to Sydney - stay in Sydney for a month then back again. I'm a nervous wreck! I'll be on the flight too but can't stand the thought of my son not being happy or being able to run around.

I'll of course pay for the nanny's flight etc, does anyone know where I can find someone with experience without paying a recruitment fee?????

Thanks

Orchide · 25/09/2007 13:39

i cant for a moment relate to her OP but still.........

NorthernRockCod · 25/09/2007 13:39

no piggy a long term fan

Piggy · 25/09/2007 13:40

Oh ok. Thought so!

lionheart · 25/09/2007 13:41

Do you always post under a pseudo-fishy name?

IcodUcodWeAllScreamForNoCod · 25/09/2007 13:42

wetfish is causing more concern that OP, who asked for help and advice, as usual if it doesn't suit the wetfish, fun is made and the verbal bullying begins

Nbg · 25/09/2007 13:42

icod and cod sitting in a tree........

just thought I'd get down to the playground level you've been talking about

oliveoil · 25/09/2007 13:42

oh fgs

if you have something to say, use your proper name you nob

JeremyVile · 25/09/2007 13:43

What a pile of shite.

These wind-up threads are infuriating - post something guaranteed to get peoples backs up - then when that happens, screech about bullying and then some people believe its real and stick up for OP - bickering starts.

Well done, you're very fucking clever.

Woo-friggin-hoo.

NorthernRockCod · 25/09/2007 13:44

verbal bullyinh

meowmix · 25/09/2007 13:45

hope you find your solution OP. I'm sure there must be a nanny between jobs wanting a lift back to Oz.

Don't go Gulf Air long haul. Life is for enjoying not torture.

Qatar Airways is flipping good, better than Emirates, once you're on the plane. Getting to the plane is often challenging. And if you ever get the chance to go first on QA grab it. Its so good they pretty much do your breathing for you to save you the effort.

Nbg · 25/09/2007 13:45

maybe georgia is VB?

StarryStarryNight · 25/09/2007 13:45

yes. but the sad part is, that the person who stands up for op is the one feeling sad, while the rest is having a laugh at her expense.

JV, it is infuriating. I just suppose I shall learn to stay away from certain threads with some specific posters on.

ComeOVeneer · 25/09/2007 13:45

This isn't bullying fgs it is light hearted teasing/mucking around. Some of you really need to get a grip.

NorthernRockCod · 25/09/2007 13:45
Grin
StarryStarryNight · 25/09/2007 13:46

The OP exists, she is not a name changer. She is a regular poster. (unless she has dual identity)

lilolilmanchester · 25/09/2007 13:46

Such is the nature of Mumsnet, Orchide/Starrystarrynight. Everyone has a right to ask for advice and support. But some threads are just outside the realms of reality for some of us. I'd also find the prospect of a longhaul flight with a 2 year old daunting. So I wouldn't have done it. If you have to do it, and have reasons such as ill health why you really can't look after your child for a long flight, that's one thing. If you just don't spend enough time with your child to know how to entertain them on a flight, ask for ideas with how to entertain them. Also, it's a bit difficult for people who are struggling with normal incomes to understand that people have the funds to pay for a nanny, on top of flights etc anyway. That's my take on why Georgia is getting a rough ride here. HOWEVER, everyone has the right to ask for advice and support, even tho I do see why people are reacting they way they are doing. So, whilst I'd normally keep off posts like this I do think a) it's not that hard to understand why this post is winding people up BUT b) Georgia has no less right to ask for advice than anyone else, so I think folks should just ignore the thread rather than post unkind comments c)if I was Georgia, I'd be having a long hard think after reading some of these comments (always assuming you have no special health etc reasons for your need for a nanny)

oliveoil · 25/09/2007 13:48

I couldn't give two craps what people can afford or what 'normal' people do (what is normal anyway?)

that doesn't sway my posts at all

StarryStarryNight · 25/09/2007 13:48

So Lilo, by what you are saying, people are just ignorant, and unable to put themselves in OPs position.

Its a fair cop.

And yes, COV. I shall "get a grip".

Tutter · 25/09/2007 13:49

if i had to do long long flight with > 1 kid i'd seriously consider paying anyone to help me

welshmum · 25/09/2007 13:49

Oh so it's not real....this is the bit when the big girls used to turn and laugh at me in the playground, only I'm slightly older now and it just makes me irritable.

lionheart · 25/09/2007 13:50

For two craps you'd be better flying premium economy because

I've heard the bogs in First class aren't worth the extra.

Nbg · 25/09/2007 13:50

olive, would you pay a chuckle brother or kerry katona?

Starry I just am getting so bl**dy iritated. All i have seen the last few days is this constant harping on about bullying. Bullying is much more serious than this, it is vile, vicious and can destroy people. A bit of light hearted mocking is what this is.
