Welcome to another season of LEGOLAND madness!
Please ask any Legoland related questions, there are loads of seasoned Legolanders here who know the place inside out. There have been loads of really great tips last year so please keep them coming!!!!
Please remember none of us work for Legoland, we are all mums dads childminders and locals who are sharing what we know!
Please keep it friendly. If you had a good bad or plain ugly experience share it too!

I read on another page that the land train is rumoured to not be getting fixed or at least for a long time .

Planning to go at half term - does anyone have any tips for the fireworks? Earlier threads suggested that they opened rides afterwards to manage the queues on leaving - does that still happen?

Stillnoidea · 07/10/2017 18:08

Can anyone remind me how busy LL will be in October half term? We haven't been for years, as we last went on a May inset day when the whole world seemed to be there. I have memories of it taking about 1-2 hours to leave the car park after fireworks, but can't remember how busy the rides were. Thanks!

2anddone · 15/10/2017 08:14

Can anyone please remind me which road Lane is best to be in to get to the closest car park on arrival at Legoland?
Also I am using the £5 entry offer for friends with annual passes can I buy them in advance or do I have to get them on the gate?
Thank you

Be aware that the buggies they hire out are solid plastic bucket-type things. No rain cover, no padding, only a waist belt.

That was a fun way to take a one year old around in the chucking rain! We had to wrap her in a poncho.
On the up side, the buggy thing was big enough to put the 6yo in when her legs got tired.

I'm taking DD tomorrow & hoping it won't be too busy as its the week before half term!

Does anyone have a timetable of the shows that are on throughout the day?

I also noticed on the handy Mumsnet guide that some restaurants let kids eat free after 3pm - I cannot find anywhere which tells me which restaurants these are - can anyone help me out?

Hello everyone and thanks for all the tips so far. We have five year old twins visiting from AUS, both seem obsessed with lego so am planning a Christmas trip, possibly on the Monday.

Wondering whether anyone has any tips?

doze931 · 06/01/2018 16:16

How strict are they for the age on drivimg school. Will be there a month before his 6th birthday. Hes same height as his 8 year old brother so looks older

greensnail · 06/01/2018 16:28

They are quite strict and they have the staff chatting to the kids in the queue and then asking them their age so you will need to prime him beforehand if you want to try to get away with it.

Would a weekend term time or mid-week during Easter holiday be quieter ?

mamabluestar · 26/02/2018 12:01

Hi we are looking at taking our 7 and 10 year olds around 20th July. Im swaying between thinking will there be enough to keep my 10 year old DD entertained and should we st get qbots for the kids. Any advice greatly received

Fondantfancypant · 02/03/2018 21:23

Hi just wondering if anyone knows are the Q Bots specific to the person? As I will be going with DP DS 4 and DS baby was thinking of just getting 2 x Q Bots as someone will always have to stay with baby so all 3 of us having a Q Bot isn't really necessary if I could save some money that would be awesome.

We’re planning on taking the kids for dd2’s birthday in June. Have picked up a few tips already. Just wondering whether it’s worth booking a weekend ticket. Have already booked the hotel room on a no-cancellation basis so got to go!

rainbowfudgee · 18/03/2018 17:52

My kids are 7 and 4. We live 1 hour 15 mins from legoland. Would a legoland annual pass be best or a merlin pass?

MrsHi · 05/04/2018 13:05

I'm planning to take my son next Easter. Windsor term times end a week before ours in Wales (which is when I want to take him). I know when I looked into accommodation options, I was offered a QBOT when querying monday stays (as an upgrade), but not on the Tuesday or Wednesday stays (not that we'll be staying three nights, I'm just a tight arsed cow looking to see if there was a price difference in certain nights). Would they not have offered me a QBOT on a Tues/Wed because there'd be not point to have one - or would you all suggest I get one regardless. Plus - are there fridges in the Legoland hotel (to take a picnic as you all suggest). Thank you xxx

Stillnoidea · 14/04/2018 08:55

MrsHi Legoland might not be open tuesday/wednesday at that time of year

Dontpinchmyspace · 19/04/2018 12:05

Hi fondant
The q bot isn’t specific to the person so you just need two. We did the same as you when dd2 was a baby and DH and I took turns taking dd1 on rides. They’re £20 each now for the basic but that’s more than adequate if you are organised and do other things while waiting for your slot.

Last week we took our two DDs on the last Sunday of school Easter holidays and this time needed 4 qbots but we used the Kellogg’s offer for the tickets so that helped. It was totally worth it. We got there before the park opened, planned our rides meticulously Grin and ended up going on 24 rides (20 different ones but 4 we went on twice). We were fairly anal about it and the weather was a bit drizzly which put some people off.

We also went in August holidays once Shock and it was also ok with queue bots and massive planning. eg get on the dragon and jolly rocker early. Leave ninjago till the park empties. No one was even queueing for Atlantis and the little one loved that. We even got a whole submarine to ourselves like celebs Grin.

Some things you can’t qbot like coastguard HQ and Laser raiders. Laser raiders is a bit weak but we did it very early when there was no queue and coastguard late at 5.45.

Also they let you join a queue up till 6pm and then keep going till everyone has their ride. We didn’t leave till about 6.30 having got there at 9.20 Blush. I appreciate that might not be everyone’s cup of tea or even possible with a baby or kids with special needs etc.
