Welcome to another season of LEGOLAND madness!
Please ask any Legoland related questions, there are loads of seasoned Legolanders here who know the place inside out. There have been loads of really great tips last year so please keep them coming!!!!
Please remember none of us work for Legoland, we are all mums dads childminders and locals who are sharing what we know!
Please keep it friendly. If you had a good bad or plain ugly experience share it too!

Please can anybody help with info re renewing Legoland annual passes? I'm trying to figure out whether it makes any difference whether we renew online before we go, or whether we will pay the same(£75 each) if we simply do it on the day? Our current passes will still be valid for a few more days when we go, so we don't need the new one immediately.

HalfCarrot · 12/03/2017 12:25

Are nectar points any good? We have about £100 worth which looks like it'd be really useful as Tesco points Sad I don't really understand points..

WigglyWooWorm · 12/03/2017 12:38

Weekend in mid june - howbusy will it be? If we do driving lessons first and leave anything really long until the end will be able to get on lots of things without s q bot.are we talking 10mins or ages?

IsItMeOr · 12/03/2017 15:07

HalfCarrot I don't think nectar points are a great deal. With £50 of Tesco clubcard points you can get a free annual pass. With 17,000 Nectar points you can get an annual pass for £85...seems like a pretty rubbish deal to me?

SloanePeterson · 12/03/2017 18:37

Isitme, thank you so much x we went yesterday and it was fantastic, I can't recommend it enough. We got the ride access pass, and tbh it would have been a totally inaccessible day out for us without it. Ten rides is more than enough, and we were there all day for opening til close. Our only mistake was going on the dragon ride first. It scared the life out of him (and me tbh Blush) All other rides were a hit, especially the Viking Rapids ride which he went on twice right at the end. I loved the Atlantis ride. We went with a voucher from a happy meal and I got in free as his carer so for me, dh and ds it was just £50 to get in. I think the medal he got for panning gold was his favourite bit of the whole day. I found the staff just amazing with him, and I liked that his hand stamp was very discrete, they did it on his wrist under his sleeve. so it wasn't obvious to everyone that he was disabled. Just to add though, we followed the advice in here to go the 'all other routes' way out of the park and my iPhone satnav went a bit crazy and wouldn't reroute us so we ended up back at the park to follow the signposted way out, and the traffic wasn't as bad as it looked.

SloanePeterson · 12/03/2017 18:42

Wiggly, the park was busy yesterday but I imagine it was nothing compared to a peak day in summer. Some queues were over an hour. We had a disabled access pass so joined the q bot lines, but the regular access lines were pretty long by about midday. I'd say go as early as you possibly can. I don't think we'd have had much fun if we'd had to queue, not even specifically because of ds's special needs, our other dc would have struggled and moaned in such a long queue. I've no idea how much a q bot is but it makes the day so much more enjoyable and we managed to fit in everything we wanted to. That must be much more difficult if you spend so long queueing at each ride.

HalfCarrot · 12/03/2017 18:52

@IsItMeOr thanks I suspected as much but couldn't find the info. DH gets loads of nectar from buying petrol for work. I wonder if Tesco do petrol near us.

WigglyWooWorm · 12/03/2017 19:10

Glad you had a good day sloane.
It will cost 100 for all 4 of us to get in or 150 for 2 days and hotel. We can't justify the extra 60 on the q bot but also really can't manage queuing. Ho hum. :(

scaredofthecity · 12/03/2017 19:20

We're going in a few weeks with the times offer. My DS is 2 so I understand he gets in for free.
Do we still need to get a ticket for him or do we just go to the queue for people with tickets and they just let him in? Tia

NogbagTheBag · 12/03/2017 19:28

Wiggly I'm having the same dilemma. We have two days and a hotel booked, but it'll be a huge stretch to get the qbot too, but also can't imagine having to queue for that long with the dcs...

Also certainly can't afford it for both days so do we make dcs queue on day one and get the joy of the qbot next day. Or have the qbot on the first day and suck up the queues for the favourite rides on the second day?!

SloanePeterson · 12/03/2017 20:01

Nog, I'd try to stretch to the q bot on the first day so you can get as much done as possible. Then on the second day, you'll have a better idea of the rides they really want to go back on, or the things you didn't get chance to do the first day. Having looked, I'm a bit shocked at the price for them, it does seem unfair tbh to have two queues, but it must make them a hell of a lot of money.

IsItMeOr · 12/03/2017 20:29

On Q-Bot, bear in mind that it doesn't include the two most popular rides - laser raiders and Coastguard HQ (the Boat School). You can pay an extra £3 each to book one timed turn on laser raiders. On a busy-ish day, the queues for both of those rides routinely get up to an hour. Best bet is to run there first thing when the park opens, or to stay until the very end when the park is due to close.

As you're going two days, you could do one ride the first morning, and the other the second?

NogbagTheBag · 12/03/2017 22:20

Thanks Sloane and Isit that's useful to to know. It's a good idea about heading to the busiest rides first each day too.

Yeah it seems a bit of a rip off to me and I would just sucks it up personally but I'm not sure I want to have paid all this money to spend two days having the dcs whining constantly...

Thanks for the advice.

WigglyWooWorm · 13/03/2017 13:43

Wow it's 20 quid a head now! We really can't justify 80 quid on top of entrance price. :( it's going to be a crap couple of days isn't it :(

Captainmum64 · 15/03/2017 12:35

I have three kids: 4.5, 2.5 and 11 weeks. We're thinking of taking the kids to legoland over Easter, but were wondering whether I will be able to accompany one of the older ones on any rides with the baby in the sling? Both of the older ones are over 0.9m but under 1.3m. What's the best way of trying to do this? It will be me and my husband as the adults. Thanks!

Blinkyblink · 20/03/2017 17:26

Is the Q bot regular sufficient?

Or should I splurge the extra £15 pp for the express?

Thanks

Blinkyblink · 21/03/2017 06:43

Sorry, one other wisriom.

For an additional £3 pp you can get instant access to laser rider before 11. Worth it?

I'm thinking doing regular q bot for £20 plus the £3 instant access to laser rider.

mailfuckoff · 21/03/2017 06:53

I went last Saturday and managed to hire a wheelchair for my ds and get a ride access pass for me with no issues, just needed doctors letters. Positives were the pirate show and the Lego movie 4d experience. If you are taking a wheelchair or pushchair please note legoland is built on a hill. There was a lot of pushing up hill so it maybe something to consider. Other then that all wheelchair accessible and customer services as great.

conkerpods · 21/03/2017 14:22

I'm gutted,I collected the Times vouchers and didn't realise you had to book by a certain date Angry
We have nectar points but no Tesco points sadly.
Any other top tips for discounts or vouchers please?

CountryCaterpillar · 21/03/2017 14:40

Buying in advance saves a huge chunk. There were buy one get one free on cereals too nut don't know if that's still on.
