I know there are several mnetters coming to Carvoeiro on holiday this summer, as I live here I thought I'd start a thread for any questions anyone might have?

And kula is now owned by the same people who have Havana!

I've consulted the oracle and he thinks it's Rochamar, opposite the entrance to rocha brava, with the ElvisSmile

Yes I think that might be right. It was nice there!

Victor, the owner, used to be a waiter at O Farol, then he ran the snack bar, then he built that restaurant about 12-15 years ago

Do you go on holiday costa? Or do you not find the need to as you have sun sand and sea where you are

Georgethesecond · 20/07/2015 21:37

The sign doesn't look as though it says Rochamar though?

Costacoffeeplease · 20/07/2015 21:46

I think he has different names for the three parts of the restaurant - the pizza place is the top floor, then the normal restaurant, and underneath is the bar - does that sound like it?

We've had one holiday since we moved here, in 2006, plus a few trips to Lisbon, cascais, Porto - unfortunately I'm quite disabled now so I'm not really able to travel, but if that has to be the case, then I'd rather be here and not able to travel, than anywhere elseSmile

Funnily enough, someone asked me recently what I miss now we live here - and one of the things I miss is - coming here on holiday - because living here is different to being on holiday!

I've just had another look at the photo and I recognise it now, the peach colour paintwork, and I think the sign says 'concerto' which I think is the bar underneath

Oh I'm sorry to hear that costa I hope things are not to painful for you. I cannot imagine living there as we are so used to it as a holiday place so I can imagine it must be different . And I agree you have the best of it all there

Georgethesecond · 20/07/2015 22:08

Yes the pizza was upstairs and there was a bar downstairs. Thanks!!

Costacoffeeplease · 20/07/2015 22:08

Thanks - I have virtually constant pain, unless I'm lying flat, but I work from home so can manage it, and work from my sick bed Grin

Here it is on tripadvisor - your photo is taken just by the awning facing the camera

Oh I'm sorry. I hope the sunshine helps a little.

Georgethesecond · 20/07/2015 22:12

Yes! I can see Elvis!

Costacoffeeplease · 20/07/2015 22:12

Thanks - the sunshine makes everything better!

Oh dear - have I killed the thread??

Chipstick10 · 22/07/2015 19:02

Not at all Costa. I'm still having withdrawal symptoms.

Costacoffeeplease · 22/07/2015 19:41

If you'd had the day I've had today, you probably wouldn't! What was I saying earlier about red tape??? Add some rental clients into the mix and I'm headed for a large g&t tonight!! Grin

Oh Costa poor you, but doesn't that beautiful sunshine make it a little bit easier.! I have just had a little iced drink of the almond liqueur we brought back from Carvoeiro.

Costacoffeeplease · 22/07/2015 21:26

A little teeny tiny bit! Aah amarguinha!

Hey costa

Coming back in August for a holiday, last time we were there we visited some very nice restaurants and I had a lovely cocktail in one of the bars. I hope they are all still there

DH would like to know where the best local place for breakfast is if that's ok

magentastardust · 23/07/2015 23:40

Hi Costa, do you recommend Onze or Taste for a nice family meal? Thanks

Costacoffeeplease · 23/07/2015 23:44

Hi

For breakfast I would go to Jomar on the out road near the post office, I haven't tried Onze yet, but have been to Taste several times, and like it a lot

Hope this helps!

We've just had a lovely meal at O Stop at Centeanes beach, really nice chicken piri piri and prawns, such a great location on the beach
