Link to the 2014 Legoland thread

Please ask away, and feel free to add your own hints and tips and reviews! Legoland is daunting, esp for parents going on their own so any tips and hints are much appreciated.

None of the regular posters on this thread are employees or associated with Legoland, we are mostly local parents with Annual passes and know the place very well as its our local playground.

Happy Legolanding!

Hi all,

Off to legoland tomorrow with dd (traffic permitting). It'll be our second trip but I have a feeling dd has been spoiled with her first which was a Thursday at the beginning of May. Weather was fantastic and there was no queuing on most of the rides (5 mins tops for one ride, the rest maybe 3 minutes). Our plan last time was to leg it straight to the underwater ride (the one with the sharks in) and then work our way back, going to the pharaoh laser ride and driving school early on. I'm concerned it'll be busy tomorrow with some schools having two weeks off for half term so crossing fingers. I'm also reading things about queueing to get in and out of the car park and buying car park tickets which we didn't have any issue with last time so tomorrow could be a very different story...

I'm avoiding knights kingdom, pirate shores, and Viking land completely because they look predominantly older children rides (dd is 4 and likes very gentle rides only) and so we can concentrate on the other zones. Will I miss anything she'd really enjoy by cutting out these areas?

Got on well thanks. Definitely much much busier than last time we went. Minimal queuing for smaller rides and some we were straight on. Legged it to Atlantis and went on that initially with no queue, the driving school was next with maybe a five minute queue then the laser Egyptian game we waited possibly ten minutes max. Enjoyed the pirate show. Ran out of energy before we went on everything we wanted to so went home, but a successful day. No queue to get in or out of the car park like I was worried about. Started queuing to get tickets at the entrance about 9:50 and waited maybe five minutes, but the queue was building behind us longer and longer. Duplo land was pretty quiet comparatively to the other areas and luckily dd still yang enough to like it. Would recommend th puppet show they do there.

Get the wristbands from customer service (get a heap of them - you can put them on your back packs too). take a photo of your kids on your phone as you go in so if they run off you can show staff what they are dressed in. We've been 3 tomes for the extra day deal (never lost kids yet, but you never know). My boys are just getting bored of it now but loved it from 5 up.

We're planning on heading to LEGOLAND for the first time tomorrow. I just wondered, does anyone know what the difference is between the qbot or the qbotmobile app? Also, it says you can buy the qbotmobile online on the day from 6am, does that ensure that we will get the qbot when we arrive or is a first come first served thing? Ideally we don't want to get up at the crack of dawn, we'd rather set off later and stay until closing time. Thanks very much

We used qbotmobile yesterday. It was great, worked flawlessly all day and yes see what you mean about not then having to queue for the qbot after queuing to get in!

Hi all,
I'm thinking of going to Legoland on Monday. I can see that it's the last pre-school day this year and want to use the pre-school pass that we got in September.
I will be going with my 4-year-old DS, and 10-month-old. Could someone please suggest which rides can we all go on together? It seems a bit limited I think.
Also, is there anywhere undercover to eat a picnic? If not, any recommendations for where to eat cheaply? The duplo buffet might be are best option.
I've skimmed through the thread but may have missed the relevant posts.
Thanks very much.

Reastie · 30/10/2015 19:37

Atlantis would be good for both dc, and there's a little dinosaur ride next to it too. Otherwise duploland bit I would think would be a good base, and they have regular puppet shows there in a little covered outdoor theatre too. We've only been twice and probably seen less than half of the park so not exactly an expert.

Thanks Reastie Smile

We're off to legoland in the morning, yay! Am hoping that as an inset day it won't be too horrendous, though apparently some of the Windsor schools are off. My 2 year old was 89cm when I last measured him, about a week ago. Of course that was barefoot- does anyone know whether that would mean he comes out as 90cm in shoes at 'LL? And can yyou reassure me there will still be plenty to do if not? We also have a (very excited) 5 year old.

What is the closest / easiest airport to fly to if going to Legoland ?

We are in north Scotland and I do not fancy an 9 hour + drive to get there !

Looking at going next May or June , our kids have never been on a plane so I thought this would be a good way to go if I could find good flight deals.

Thanks

WeetabixExpress · 27/11/2015 23:17

Heathrow is 15 minutes drive from Legoland. And you get fab planespotting opportunities from the park!

LightsOnNotIn · 12/01/2016 12:46

Where is everyone? I'm going to Legoland over Easter, for son's birthday present. He'll be 6. Staying in LL hotel because we got a good deal in the current LL January sale. I shall be watching this thread with interest to pick up tips.

LilacAndLovely · 07/02/2016 09:17

Hi everyone, just wanted some opinions on the LEGOLAND hotel and if people think it's worth the money?

We're planning to go for 2 days in April - I've priced this up on the LL website and it comes to an eye watering £424 including a stay in a standard themed room.

I can get a a corporate discount on the tickets only though and Premier Inns have the saver rate rooms...so I can get the same two days in LL, with a stay in the Premier Inn in Slough (15 minutes away) for a total of £178.

I'm struggling with the thought of paying all that extra just for one night in the LL hotel. Can someone please confirm it's not actually that fabulous?

Kirriemuir · 19/03/2016 09:50

It's not fabulous. Honestly. We stay at the travelodge. Perfectly fine and much, much cheaper! Use your extra cash to get a taxi to the park if you don't want to use the bus.

Pengillygirl · 03/04/2016 08:10

We are on the move ladies and gents! Please grab your bags and maps and head over here for your new shiny Legoland 2016 thread!

What great tips..just wanted to ask 2 things...we are staying at Marriott slough Windsor, for 3 nights, and wanted to stock.up on snacks etc for our Lego land trip( we are flying from Belfast so obviously cant bring anything with us), and were wondering if there is a large supermarket within walking distance of the hotal or if not...would a taxi cost a lot to nearest supermarket?
Also if we wanted to spend a day in London on our trip, can we get a bus in from the Marriott or is it quite complicated?
Sorry for all the questions
Margaret

Emily0907 · 22/02/2017 13:51

Just wondering if anyone has a spare code for the Times Legoland offer. I didn't see it until Monday and thought I could buy 2 papers on one day but you can't. It must be 4 separate days. I have 3 codes but need 4. I would be so grateful if anyone has a code that they could share if they are not using it themselves.

Thanks so much
Emily
