hayleylou · 15/09/2005 08:47

I am in Germany!

purpleturtle · 15/09/2005 11:08

Pinotgrigio - will it help if I tell you the children got up to play just as we went to bed last night?

Drugs may well be the solution

albert · 15/09/2005 11:19

Me, I'm in Venice, Italy but just about to move to Brasilia (capital of Brazil). I finally finished the packing last night and hopefully tomorrow I'll get my shipping date.

ghosty · 15/09/2005 11:23

Hello

albert · 15/09/2005 11:59

I think Collision lives in Italy too, near Sienna if I remember correctly.

LIZS · 15/09/2005 12:11

Hasn't Collision moved back to UK- or was going to - while Marypop has recently moved over to Italy. Also was it sansouci in Switzerland/France? Blossom2 in Paris.

suedonim · 15/09/2005 14:14

I'm likely to be living outside the UK from Jan. The internet connex aren't very good there so I'm worried about getting my daily dose of Mumsnet! I was living in Indonesia a couple of years ago.

beetle73 · 15/09/2005 14:26

Beetle73 in Paris, but not for much longer.

DEE7479551 · 15/09/2005 20:30

Hi! I'm in the south west of France, between Bordeaux and Toulouse.

Monstersmum · 15/09/2005 20:59

Hi - I'm in Budapest.

jabberwocky · 15/09/2005 22:41

Oh, I was in Budapest 2 years ago and loved it! Can you speak Hungarian? It's such a difficult language.

yawningmonster · 15/09/2005 22:47

ghosty where are you? In the south island?

ParisMum · 15/09/2005 22:51

ParisMum, strangely in Paris!

funnily enough I had thought about that one!
but it doesn't really fit at all...

Pip · 15/09/2005 23:42

Teeavee - Galicia is gorgeous! It's really green, mountainous, has beautiful unspoilt beaches ... it rains a lot too (although this year has been uncharacteristically dry). The houses are prettier in France though. Largely unknown by the British although there are more here than ever this year (perhaps due to Ryanair!). The food is fantastic although I do miss the choice back in the UK. Not to mention marmite.

Bouj · 15/09/2005 23:44

Am native. Dh is English, and ds is half and half! I cheekily said the other day to Ds, 'sadly, we lost the cricket yesterday' Quick as a flash Dh said 'no, WE won, the cricket, boy'. poor ds will grow up confused I think...

moondog · 15/09/2005 23:46

Pip,I really fancy a trip to Galicia. Sound ace. my sister (Spanish speaking but lives in france) raves about it!
Are you married to a Galician?

Pip · 15/09/2005 23:54

Hi Moondog - out of interest, where did your sister visit / live in Galicia (if you can remember)?

Actually, my parents are from Galicia. I've always lived in the UK until last year when I moved out here, with my husband (English) & two boys. It's really different to the rest of Spain. Really untouched in some ways but really modern in others. Family life is fab here though. Everyone LOVES children. They get so much attention. Quite a culture shock after the UK but wonderful.
You should visit one day. Ryanair do ridiculously cheap flights here now.

moondog · 15/09/2005 23:56

Not sure Pip.
Sorry.
What language(s)do you speak?

Pip · 16/09/2005 00:04

Just English & Spanish (and Gallego, the local language - sound more like Portuguese).

Every state in Spain seems to want its independence right now. All the signposts here are in Gallego, as are many menus, leaflets etc etc. Really confusing for people turning up expecting to hear Castillian Spanish! My DH has a nightmare! Two years of going to Spanish class and when they speak in Gallego he can't understand a word! But it's okay, my 3.5 yr DS is teaching him!!!

swedishmum · 16/09/2005 00:19

Changed my name to Swedishmum when I was living there but as we came back in May and I'm not remotely Swedish I must think up a new name (not that the old one had hours of thought).
