AA website says traffic pretty heavy and slow moving - their route finder reckons it will take me 2 hours from Colchester to Heathrow - should i allow longer - its 100 miles.

I'd allow more time...you can go for a coffee if you are early...

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 30/08/2005 11:45

well i was going to leave at 1pm - dad lands at 3.35pm but i wanted to allow myself time for parking and a cuppa.

What time should i leave now???

What about 12.30pm? There is nothing worse than sitting in a traffic jam all frustrated cos you won't get somewhere on time!

munz · 30/08/2005 11:46

I'd say 12 be safe and get there early then u can sit down with a mag as well. 100 miles in London traffic - would be at least 2.5 hours I recon.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 30/08/2005 11:47

think i might..... just dont want to be stupidly early but then dont want dad to have to hang around for me because im stuck in traffic!

does it matter if you're late?

the m25 is very unpredicatable - so many accidents - about the only time it's clear is in the early hrs of the moring

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 30/08/2005 11:48

it will matter to me - im picking my baby girl up!

OP posts:
iota · 30/08/2005 11:52

better leave now then

Kayleigh · 30/08/2005 11:53

jessicaandbumpsmummy, I'd definitely go now. Better to get there early and have a nice relaxing sit down and cuppa than be panicking on the motorway.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 30/08/2005 11:54

right - getting stuff together....

M25 shut between J12-13 both ways. is that by heathrow apparently it's by staines??

iota · 30/08/2005 13:15

that's bad - -h'row is junct 14

munz · 30/08/2005 13:16

does JM ahve to go thru 12/13 at all? apparently mega tail backs

iota · 30/08/2005 13:17

if she's coming from the north no, but the tailbacks will cause massive conjestion which may affect her

iota · 30/08/2005 13:18

if she's going round the south, she's stuffed

munz · 30/08/2005 13:18

fingers crossed things will be OK and jess will be picked up fine.

iota · 30/08/2005 13:20

Oh dear

munz · 30/08/2005 13:23

bloody hell, well as long as JM&B is careful and takes time things should be OK, hopefully she'll be on tonight.

Kelly1978 · 30/08/2005 13:24

a lorry carry hydrogen peroxide has spread the stuff all over the m24, junctions 12-3 are closed, hence all the problems.
