More upmarket English/Welsh seaside resorts?

Me and DP want a weekend away at the seaside. I like Southport, Brighton and Bournemouth and would like ideas for places with a similar feel.

would you say they were 'upmarket'?? i so wouldnt!!lol

Sidmouth in Devon is upmarket.

Well I guess it's upmarket from Blackpool so it depends what you're starting place is ! I loved St Ives in Cornwall when we went.

oh, and OP, you can't say "me and DP" at an upmarket resort...you have to say "my partner and I..."

I went to Dawlish a couple of years ago with ds on the recommendation of my mum who thought it was nice. It was absolutely hideous in any number of ways. Thank heavens we only went there for the day. When I quizzed my mum on why on earth she thought it was nice she said it had been..... 40 years ago .

I like Lyme Regis. OP if you ignore all the places that AF mentions you will be okay!

Porlocl Weir - not really a sea-side town or even really a town but it's on the sea and it's very pretty.

AF sadly, with the exception of Morecombe, I have been to every place you list .
