@Llangewydd57 my DS has got 3 offers actually. Warwick Maths & Stats (joint degree) run by Statistics Dept and single Maths by Maths Dept. We were told they were treated separately so we hope that is the case. I don't think it would be easy to move to Maths if studying Maths & Stats.

Llangewydd57 · 02/04/2026 22:46

That’s great news @Cratos, well done to your DC.

jkhj · 02/04/2026 23:01

first ly well done to all those with offers and good luck for those waiting

We are eagerly waiting to hear from UCL for maths. 4 a* predicted inc future maths (thankfully step is not needed if doing further maths)
Dd has offers from Kcl, Bristol and Bath. imperial was a no - TMUA was not great.
fingers crossed for UCL as it’s been her top choice all along.
kcl second as it’s London, although not as regarded for maths according to league tables, although she and we really liked it. Additionally the course seems to be leaning more towards pure maths than applied which she likes, as too is UCL.

anyone else still waiting on UCL maths?

AuntyBulgaria · 03/04/2026 08:15

@jkhj DS not waiting for maths at UCL but Data science. The wait is long and painful

What I think is unfair are any universities that open up and operate accommodation booking on a first come first serve basis when they haven't given out all their offers.

jkhj · 03/04/2026 10:33

@AuntyBulgaria totally agrees the wait is horrible especially when adding in the way they allocate accommodation. Was really hoping we’d hear before Easter, we will go back to waiting as it’s her favourite.
hop you hear back soon

Edited

Was quite impressed with the way KCL manage this - they release accommodation in tranches as offers are issued so that whether you are offered in April or June you still have access to uni halls.

Thanks for the new thread!

jkhj · 03/04/2026 11:04

@CautiousLurker2 that’s good to know, thank you

mumonthehill · 03/04/2026 14:05

Ds got his first choice accommodation today at Reading so is pleased. Feels like we have some certainty now.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 03/04/2026 15:21

Thanks for the new thread.
Time is still moving along a bit too quickly for my liking!
we need to start thinking about getting the student finance application done, nothing else to do until the final offer/rejection comes from
LSE and definite choices can be made!

EducatingRosemary · 03/04/2026 22:32

My YP has decided on firm and insurance but not actually submitted them as all the advice is to leave it as long as possible just in case something changes! Really don’t know what would change for them now though!

They do finally seem to have knuckled down to doing some work this week! Definitely motivated by completing all the OHDs, making the decision and really wanting their firm!

Great that your DC had made a decision. Where is their firm and insurance?
Mine is still deciding between ICL and Warwick. Offer holder day for ICL is sometime in April and they are back from their travels to make it.
Still nothing from LSE.

Holymolyrigmorole · 03/04/2026 23:53

DS had 3/5 offers within a couple of weeks of October submission (Edin, KCL & QML) , but it’s been a long old wait since then for LSE (preferred) and UCL. A friend applying for LSE same course got a rejection this week but it’s hard to know what can be extrapolated from that, if anything. As soon as he knows if it’s a rejection from LSE then he’s happy to firm KCL.

pinkdelight · 04/04/2026 08:23

DS firmed and insured yesterday - Warwick cs and Lancaster maths&cs. Other offers for cs Manchester & KCL were higher than Warwick so didn't make sense to insure either. He liked them all a lot and should be fine to meet all the offers, but feels comforting to have a 'proper' safety rather than all high with clearing risk. Also got the longshot raffle ticket for Cambridge ARP to keep things slightly interesting/stressful/a total non-event. Good to get to this next phase though! Will look into the student finance stuff after eating lots of Easter eggs.

Good luck to all waiting on offers and the frustrations of accommodation systems. Warwick seems to do it pretty fairly thankfully, but the first come/first served places that open early must be super stressful.

gluenotsoup · 04/04/2026 13:25

Just joining in. Dd is waiting on one more uni (kings) so can’t yet firm her first choice (Manchester). She is feeling the pressure now though, and starting to doubt her ability a bit which isn’t easy to see. I keep saying just do your best, keep on with the practice essays etc but it’s a lot x

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 04/04/2026 15:51

Thanks for new thread!

Still waiting on Warwick. Still annoyed that they had their offer day before the finished issue offers and that they take so bloody long! DS isn’t overly confident of an offer, but he doesn’t want to firm his current favourite until he’s heard. At this rate he could have finished exams before we hear anything (in Scotland).

I am sure Warwick will offer as my DC’s mates had very late offers last year. My DC is waiting until he’s been on offer holder to ICL and will then decide which one (Warwick or ICL) to firm. He loved UCL too but prefers the courses at the other two.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 04/04/2026 16:25

Thank you @Llangewydd57 . The wait is so frustrating. I wish they’d hurry up!

puddock · 06/04/2026 15:46

Thanks for the new thread. DS (Mech Eng) has all 5 back now, and is going to the Bath OHD on Friday; then he will decide between there, Durham, and Sheffield, though he is now thinking about taking a year out too. Hope those still waiting get news soon

maturemummy · 09/04/2026 18:51

Apologies, I’ve just posted in the first thread as hadn’t seen the new one.
DS received an offer from Warwick today for Maths and Physics combined rather than standalone Maths which he applied for. He’s thinking it over.

@maturemummy exactly the same thing happened to my DS today. He also has a Warwick Maths & Stats offer. His TMUA was 4.3. He has Bristol and Bath Maths offers too. We are confused now. He was preparing for Step (since a version of Maths & Stats and Bristol offers include Step) but now he is wondering if he should stop and focus on his 4 A Levels.

maturemummy · 09/04/2026 20:20

I wonder what the lowest TMUA grade accepted by Warwick was? DS had 4.5.
Fortunately he isn’t sitting STEP. He has offers from Durham, Manchester & Birmingham, all for MMaths. I know Warwick has an offer holder day for Maths soon, hopefully it will include the combined subjects too & final decisions can be made.

YellowEllie13 · 09/04/2026 21:54

@maturemummy the lowest my DD knows of is 4.5. Her two friends got that and got offers on the last day of April last year (as did DD with her 4.6). This was for the MMath (home students, non-contextual). They all missed the last offer holder day.

YellowEllie13 · 09/04/2026 22:01

I should clarify - that was for last year! Sorry!
