Anyone else's DC taking the TMUA test this week? DD is busy doing a bit of practice now. She'll need a fairly decent score. I wish she'd gone for the Jan sitting now!

My DC is sitting theirs on Thursday! They say they need a 7 ideally 😵‍💫 they seem quite calm and collected however. Good luck to your DC!

Good luck to your DC too. Mine had a bit of a wobble this evening. She needs a 6.5 probably.

Yes, she is. I'm very nervous for her. She's been doing just about well (enough - high 6s and 7s) on the past papers until the last one she did yesterday which went very badly. Doing badly in a test is not something she's ever really experienced so this is all a bit tense.

We had similar - mostly getting around 6.5/7 and then one past paper was a 3 earlier in the week! It’s so much pressure for them 😞 be interesting to hear how your dd gets on. I’m assuming they won’t get the results for a few weeks? My dc is applying to economics so very oversubscribed.

Feels like so much pressure for them. DD had her heart set on one particular uni for quite a while and only this year have they made the TMUA compulsory which is so annoying! I'll report back later with how she felt it went (though it's so hard to judge with this test I think), and I really hope your DS finds it ok 🤞

DD home. She is so glad it's done. It was hard and she feels very uncertain about whether she's done well enough but for now she's enjoying the feeling of it being done. I still have a lingering stress headache 😂

Aw well done to your DD! Apparently paper 1 is harder (friend of dc said there’s today too) What course is she applying to? I can’t wait for it to be done… this time tomorrow… 🍾🎉

Yes, seems paper 1 was not loved today.
She's hoping for maths at Warwick. So hoping this TMUA today hasn't ruined her chance. We will see. I am so glad it's done!! 😅

Dc aiming for Camb, lse, or warwick at the moment! Fierce competition for economics 😰 worth a shot though! They’ve worked really hard and they love the subject so who knows! 🤞🏻

Dc said it went ‘ok’ although they ran out of time to answer one question on paper 2… they said it’s sort of hard to know really what they might have got - hopefully half right! 😬🤞🏻

Totally agree with your DC that's is very hard to know how well you've done on this test. Fingers crossed for them both! Mine isn't hugely hopeful as paper 1 was v tough apparently but we will just have to wait and see.
At least for now we can enjoy the fact it's done : )

I think TMUA results might be out tomorrow. DD pretty certain she hasn't done well enough. She's always been so academically strong it feels very strange to be preparing for a low score. Luckily she has fallen in love with a non-TMUA university so hopefully she will still have good options.

Yes, we’re preparing for a low ish score as my poor dc despite stellar application got rejected pre interview from Camb 😞 that’s great your dd likes a non tmua uni!! 😮‍💨

Will the kids be informed directly of their TMUA results or do they go straight to the unis?

@Upperroom I am sorry to hear that. I hope your DC is ok.
It's so tough. My DD had her heart set on Warwick for a long time. It's hard to see things go wrong based on one test when they've worked hard and done so well at school throughout. This is the first yr Warwick have made the TMUA mandatory for the degree she wants to do. Very unfortunate for DD.

@Coldilocks I think the unis already have them. But my DD hasn't yet got her application in so I'm not sure how the result is shared. I'm hoping DD/her school will know.

Looks like the wait really is nearly over. According to uat website they will be available from 6am on 27th.

So sorry to read that @Upperroom. I hope your DC bounces back and puts everything into A levels. As someone wrote on the Oxbridge thread, at least the decision is made and Christmas can be more relaxed and the focus put on revision, rather than interviews, another interview, waiting for an offer and the process dragging on forever, only to be rejected in Jan or not make the offer in August.

My son has booked the January sitting I didn't even know the test existed until he sent the bill! He isn't doing further maths, have those that did it earlier all done further maths out of interest.

@Upperroom so frustrating. DD tried to access them before leaving for school but the link just kept timing out! Might have to wait till after school now as she's not especially keen on finding out whilst at school 😬
