Morning! Also peeked in on the student room (I never look for long - feels equivalent to listening at DCs’ door rather than a chat I’m entitled to partake in!). The mounting panic over there is palpable - my heart is now thumpety thumping. Back here for adult calm.... Good luck today to all Oxford aspirants and supportive parents!

Good luck to all us Oxford peeps, I am so hoping the emails will come through quickly this morning and no one's left not knowing late in the day. DD has aid she'll open the email as soon as it arrives, even if she's in the middle of an online lesson. We just need to know so we can move on! Sending positives vibes out to all other Oxford hopefuls here!! xx

We've just heard from UCAS. No idea which colleague. But it's 'unconditional' based on the two Advanced Highers last he did year. Crossing my fingers for all the other applicants. I think they really are taking the Covid situation into consideration.

I’m confused, will they hear via UCAS track or by email?

Obviously we're delighted - but I'm hoping my post will encourage more that boast. They really seem to have looked at his submissions and exams already done. Huge relief because I was worried about how they'd be marking Pre-U this year.

Another one from the current Oxbridge parents thread popping by to say I'm thinking of you and wishing you well. I found the process to be all consuming (and that's just as a parent), driven in part by the huge chunks of waiting time. At least the wait will be over fir you. I hope it's good news and a joyful start to the year. I'll be keeping an eye out fir good news: we could all do with some right now. For those without the news they wanted, I like the idea of celebrating the other offers.

FWIW DS got a track update mid morning and a (thin) letter from his college (no email) at about the same time.

Chocomel when DD got her offer I wanted to take a wraparound ad out in the Metro.

This last bit of waiting is excruciating!
