5 of us (at least!)...... would you like to say which colleges? DD is waiting on Worcester, and they haven't released many interviews at all yet. I assume they will all come in a big block.

Worcester here too, although from what I hear there is a fair chance of being reallocated as it is a popular college.

Dd & I a while ago were watching some REALLY old Cambridge interviews (fly on the wall type stuff) from either 70's or 80's on youtube.

They recorded them??? Aargh - I wouldn’t like any of the garbage I burbled about at interview to come back to haunt me 30-40 years later.

DD too is waiting for History (AMH) at Oxford. College she has applied to has being awfully quiet - haven't seen any history interview invites out as far as I am aware or indeed many for other subjects come to that (though only have the infamous spreadsheet on TSR to go by). The wait is excruciating 😣.

Corpus Christi appear to have issued some History invites today.

Can I ask - do your dc all have 3 or 4 As for predicted grades? DD’s predicted are 2 As and one A. Will it count against her?

@bendmeoverbackwards I thought shortlisting for interview (history) was based on 50% GCSE's and 50% HAT score so imagine they won't even look at predicted A'levels at this stage. Not even sure they come into consideration at all. Maybe at offer stage if they are deliberating between equally good candidates they might check but who knows! I wouldn't stress as those are good predicted grades irrespective and more than what is required. Comforting to hear another AMH candidate is still waiting - not the same college though.

@bendmeoverbackwards There is a history admissions report that lays out how it was down in either 2019 or 2020 - I forget. Can find it on the Merton admissions pages, along with some other colleges. It lays out the criteria at each stage and curiously predictions don’t feature at all, except presumably that they satisfy requirements. It imagine that they will come in as soft feature in discussions

As pp says, first phase is just GCSEs and HAT , both contextualised

@chopc TSR is horrific - definitely not intended for us. I can't bear all the haha!s and I have a huge urge to go on and tell them to all stop asking if x college has invited anyone and to go and do some homework. Pot and kettle of course.

I don't think they really look at predicted grades - anyone applying to Oxbridge is probably going to have A & A predictions. If you get an offer, the standard Oxford humanities offer is AAA, you don't even need the As

The contextualisation of the HAT does make history applications somewhat of lottery! Lots rejected last year with over 80%, others accepted with under 50%. Makes it a total waste of time to be honest....
