It's great to hear of all the good offers coming in!

DS finally hit the button on Thursday night - not sure how long college will need before they finally send it through, but I don't think it's very long, so I'm expecting him to get his welcome letter for Track some time this week.

I think his mocks are before Christmas - so any time now. At least it gets them out of the way.

I'm glad we're in Wales from a funding point of view - the WA loan system is much more generous than the English one! Basically, there's no parental contribution expected at all - they ask for income details to decide how much is grant and how much is loan, but if DC decides to take the full loan, it's set at minimum wage level. DD gets a little over £9k this year.

I keep getting ‘end of an era’ feelings - last ever school rugby match yesterday, last ever Christmas jazz concert today... SNAP OUT OF IT, WOMAN!

I keep getting ‘end of an era’ feelings - last ever school rugby match yesterday, last ever Christmas jazz concert today...

Same here. I had my last parent teacher conferences last week. That was both happy and sad.

MissConductUS · 01/12/2019 17:54

Sorry, meant to say it was my last meet the teachers night. We'll have conferences again in the spring.

oneteen · 01/12/2019 17:56

@KingscoteStaff - This year does seem to be flying by...I still can't handle not having to get up in the morning to take DD to school (we live in a village so I have been doing the school run since she was at pre-school)...It's nice to have a lie-in but has the weather gets colder and icy in the morning my stress levels go through the roof...

aibutohavethisusername · 01/12/2019 18:05

Oneteen congrats to your DD on her offer. My DD is doing a postal vote as she is at the Oxford interview when the election is on.

MillicentMartha · 01/12/2019 18:26

That was quick, oneteen! And shes’s off...

DD first mock sociology was 2 days ago.
Others ones are a week before Xmas.

Snozzlemaid · 01/12/2019 19:18

DD's mocks are the end of January apparently.
She is delighted to be able to vote for the first time on Dec 12th.

Serin · 01/12/2019 20:59

DS got an offer through for Nottingham today, on a Sunday Confused AAB.
It's taken them 3 weeks to reply.
By far the slowest.
All 5 in now. Exciting.

oneteen · 01/12/2019 21:10

Well done to your DS Serin...DD's offer came through today too ...she didn't expect an offer on a Sunday!

Serin · 01/12/2019 22:33

Yay!! Congratulations to her Oneteen. Birmingham is on DS's list as well.

Lightuptheroom · 02/12/2019 16:02

Ds just put his application in, really wants History at York, anybody know what sort of offers they are making ?

aibutohavethisusername · 02/12/2019 17:07

My daughter has a BBB offer for History at York.

MillicentMartha · 02/12/2019 17:18

That’s a lot lower than their standard offer, aibu!

OP posts:
aibutohavethisusername · 02/12/2019 17:38

Yes. She is very fortunate to have BBB from York & Exeter and unconditional from QMUL (reduced after interview).

aibutohavethisusername · 02/12/2019 17:40

I am wrong. It is ABB from York.

MillicentMartha · 02/12/2019 17:47

She must have impressed them! Smile

oneteen · 02/12/2019 18:19

Dd has ABB offer today from UEA which will probably be her insurance..

thesunwillout · 02/12/2019 18:31

Oneteen, thrilled for your dd

aibutohavethisusername · 02/12/2019 20:20

Great news Oneteen

oneteen · 02/12/2019 20:22

Thank you... It would nice to get a Warwick offer this week too and then DD has one unfilled option which she can be experimental with...

Hoghgyni · 03/12/2019 08:23

I was waiting to hear about Edinburgh's policy on contextual offers on R4 Today this morning, but the interview got drowned out with hecklers. I assume that nobody has had anything from Edinburgh yet. It's great to see do many achievable offers coming through for everyone.

LIZS · 03/12/2019 08:29

Dd had to complete a fees status questionnaire and send copies of our passports to Edinburgh, but no further response yet. Offer from UCL in meantime, do they do applicant days?

Hoghgyni · 03/12/2019 08:32

DD has heard absolutely nothing from them. I think the likelihood of her going to the opposite end of the country for a 4 year degree though is minimal.
