Ds1 took his leftover pasta home with him this afternoon

He said he is going to have it with veg and fruit...i am hoping not all together

I am very impressed with all this talk of lettuce

stonecircle · 24/09/2017 20:10

Not a scouser bigtilly, but a serious rugby player which demands a fairly high level of alcohol tolerance.

user327854831 · 24/09/2017 20:12

Yes that's a bit of a stealth lettuce boast there user.

From me? I'm confused it happens often

Mine has eaten lots of vegetables, at least I hope so as they are a vegetarian. In this house lettuces are rabbit food.

BestIsWest · 24/09/2017 20:14

DS did buy some little gem lettuce to take with him before he went - but left it behind. What with the broccoli he forgot to buy, I'm not holding out much hope for his fruit and vegetable intake.

Auntpetunia2015 · 24/09/2017 20:15

Just home after the flying visit to Preston to drop off bank cards and computer operating system disc. Forgot hangers though so clothes are still in the bag ! Room is relatively tidy for him but his flat mates are definitely very private , we arrived and all the doors were closed apart from ds's and then someone went past and did say hello to us. Went for a wander around Preston and then we went to Nando's so I know he's has a decent meal and some veg ; he had corn on the cob. But was in good form. Only fly in the ointment is they haven't paid him all of his maintenance grant so I'm going to have to call them tomorrow. Just looking at the letter we read it as saying this is how much we are paying to start with but as long as they had all the information they'd pay the rest. But in small print at the bottom it says something about sponor two needing to send information? but it says check the website to see what else they need and the site says nothing else needed. So that's a call I'm having to make tomorrow.

Haffdonga · 24/09/2017 20:22

I was equally confused by the lettuce buying. This is not the ds I know and love. Ds has consistently and stubbornly refused salad from the age of 3. (Though I think the fact that the lettuce was past its sell by date in the bottom of the fridge may a better indication of ds's' style.)

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 24/09/2017 20:28

Oooh we gave ds1 the key to his lock box

So now he can get money

He is coming back for the funeral so we said is Thursday night ok...you're not missing anything? Nope so thats fine . then we said if you want to get back for Friday night Pa can take you otherwise we can drop you off on Saturday.....oh no, apparently he doesnt have to be back til tuesday so he will definitely stay til monday Grin

user327854831 · 24/09/2017 20:30

I see your lettuce and raise you stuffed peppers with couscous and feta with sweet potato and carrot mash! grin]

I don't know who the person is that is cooking this stuff, there must be an alien impersonating my DC.

DS told me has eaten 4 apples (on the fruit & veg front). He's been there a week now ...

stonecircle · 24/09/2017 20:43

DS3 has bought frozen mixed veg - purely for show I expect. He's asked me to send him some new tea towels as the ones I gave him 'leave fibres behind'. He also wants me to send him a bath mat.

DS2 on the other hand has been back a week and hasn't unpacked yet ....

dingit · 24/09/2017 20:43

That's nothing. Dd has bought antibacterial spray for the kitchen Grin

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 24/09/2017 20:44

user Hmm

Ds1 eats frozen waffles

Shows how good his teeth are

(Im so ashamed Sad)

LaughingLlama · 24/09/2017 20:45

My daughter has been very vague about what she has eaten this past week in the couple of very brief conversations we've had. She did mention lots of free pizza at certain fresher events however!
I

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 24/09/2017 20:45

HE HAS A LAUNDRY BASKET

HE SPENT MORE MONEY ON VODKA THAN FOOD THIS WEEK

wait...

readsalotgirl63 · 24/09/2017 20:48

yeah dd mentioned free pizza and free beef burgers. However one flatmate actually cooks " proper food" so has bagged the broccoli left behind by the other flatmate who moved out because " we weren't party enough" !

Horsemad · 24/09/2017 21:00

I am home. I feel so 'flat' Sad The house feels 'wrong' and the cat looks confused not to see him.

Saw DS today, think he was at the glitter party too @RedHelenB as, despite having had a shower, he still had traces of glitter on his face! Smile

He looked shattered, has been out both nights since arriving.

user327854831 · 24/09/2017 21:06

@dingit - that's far more than I think has happened with mine, though the flatmates are apparently neat freaks!

@rufus - far better teeth than mine has then, you must be so proud kicks self for forgetting to book the last dental checkup

Mine is a vegetarian so has to do something that sounds good as they can't just bung a ready meal in the oven - they have food allergies so cooking is a necessary evil; they deliberately went for self catered for that reason.

SoupDragon · 24/09/2017 21:11

I feel lax - DS1 has been gone 12 hours and I've not quizzed him on what he's eaten. I sent him with enough long lasting basic food to get him through Freshers but there was nothing fresh there.

stonecircle · 24/09/2017 21:33

DS3 now has his timetable and is horrified to discover he's expected to do physics from 9am to 6pm on Mondays!

HSMMaCM · 24/09/2017 21:36

Wow! That's a long day.

Fascinating thread for me to read as I’ve been to several open days at unis in the last few weeks. DD is hoping to do Biomedical Sciences.

It all seems a long time ago that DD was at uni - as there’s an 8 ur gap between them. He was at Bath and loved it.

I worry that DD will find it a bit harder as she’s quieter until she gets to know people, although she found a new circle of lovely friends quite easily when she moved to a 6th form college. I know I’ll worry about her much more than I every worried about DS!

BlossomCat · 24/09/2017 21:44

Soupdragon, I left my son at 2pm. I want to ask him so many questions! I know he'll eat tonight as there was a pot noodle thing answer a pot of pringles in his welcome pack left in his bedroom.
He told me that he'll Facebook message me later in the week, but I want to know now! Grin
He has a lovely view of the bins from his window.

BlossomCat · 24/09/2017 21:45

and a pot

BackforGood · 24/09/2017 21:48

Blimey that's a long day stonecircle - dd only has 7 hours per week Hmm]
