Continuation of the original thread which is now on to 40 page maximum.
Original thread (part 1) here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/higher_education/2759621-Uni-offers-for-2017-start?

Most offers now received. My twins have had offers from their 4 and are currently deciding which will be firm and which insurance. One twin
( possibly two of them) is going to an offer holders' day coming up at Bristol next month with his friends from school.

Another underslept, overinvested parent drawn back to MN today (I've been on a break).

Congrats twitter!

Helenluvsrob · 17/08/2017 07:44

Yay! In here too. I bloody love UCAS. So much anxiety when the older 2 went to get theirs.

hugoagogo · 17/08/2017 07:45

We also walking up on his own, no emails. Envy

Auntpetunia2015 · 17/08/2017 07:50

He's in so off to Preston. Results not good considering the amount of work he did but hey. Is it too early for Wine

curtes · 17/08/2017 07:51

DD has just found out she's got her 1st choice.
But it was very different last year, woke up to find out she'd been rejected by 1st & 2nd choice. When she got her results she had AAD. Decide to take a year out and resist one A-level. Got herself a job, mainly self studied and re-sat. Re-applied to the same unis, got offers again and has done it. (I've just asked her when she's going to get her result and she says she doesn't care what grade she got!!)
She has grown up so much this year, it has actually been a really positive experience. Just wanted to say to those that don't get what they want it doesn't have to be doom and gloom.

ImListening · 17/08/2017 07:58

We are in 3As

Lucysky2017 · 17/08/2017 07:58

The only one of my two I have seen has not checked yet. I suspect he's just gone back up to his bed room now to check.. Who would not check as soon as they got up? He's had a shower, got food.....

ErrolTheDragon · 17/08/2017 08:02

MrsPatmore · 17/08/2017 08:08

Sooo proud of my dn who has had a life of adversity. Against all the odds, she's in at Cambridge to read Economics! No idea of grades yet...

HSMMaCM · 17/08/2017 08:11

We're in. DD very happy 😃.

ImListening · 17/08/2017 08:34

Well done to all who are in

Good luck to the others

zazas · 17/08/2017 08:35

curtes us too! Just heard from my daughter who is in America that she has got into her first choice, rejected from both last year, resat and now in! She was always going to take a year off before going but having to resit added a different dimension but one which she had embraced. What a difference a year makes, tears of joy instead! Well done to ask those who have been successful! We still have 3 to go, 1 awaiting his AS results (we are away and he can't ring in yet) and two lots of GCSE results next week!

Apocalyptichorsewoman · 17/08/2017 08:42

Ds1 is in!! First choice 😊 He's going to Leeds to do computer science - am so pleased for him - he's been through the mill that lad...

Tawny75 · 17/08/2017 08:45

DD is going to her first choice - Southampton. She did not get quite high enough grades for the Joint Honours in History and Archaeology but they want her to do pure Archaeology instead. She is over the moon.

user9512736123 · 17/08/2017 08:48

Yay, got the results and a place at the firm choice.
Well done or good luck to everybody else depending on whether you've heard yet. Sorry if anybody missed their grades, get on the phones.

Apocalyptichorsewoman · 17/08/2017 08:53

Zazas Ds1 did a resit too whilst working in a year out,and has just got his first choice - it made a huge difference in terms of maturity - Well done to your daughter! 😊

stonecircle · 17/08/2017 09:00

Tawny - ds also going to Southampton (physics). Such a relief!

MaidenMotherCrone · 17/08/2017 09:02

DS accepted by his firm. Off to Cardiff to read Theoretical and Computational Physics.
No idea about his results yet.

Lucysky2017 · 17/08/2017 09:04

Twins both got in. They are driving to school hopefully shortly to get the results if they ever stop chatting. One checked first but the other was up, got breakfast, ate it, brought his plates down and still had not checked and it woudl have been so hard if one twin got in and not the other (both got in to Bristol but one needs A*AA (and had 2 new style a levels) and the other AAB and had 2 old style A levels.

I hope they are kind to friends who didn't quite make it.

titchy · 17/08/2017 09:05

First choice despite dropping a grade 😄 (Exeter)

TwitterQueen1 · 17/08/2017 09:05

Got the grades now - 4 As Grin. This is pretty much what she was predicted though she would have settled for 2 As and 2Bs I think. Great news.

allinahuddle · 17/08/2017 09:12

Mine in too! DS off to do computer science at Leeds which was first choice so delighted.
