Continuation of the original thread which is now on to 40 page maximum.
Original thread (part 1) here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/higher_education/2759621-Uni-offers-for-2017-start?

Most offers now received. My twins have had offers from their 4 and are currently deciding which will be firm and which insurance. One twin
( possibly two of them) is going to an offer holders' day coming up at Bristol next month with his friends from school.

dingit I'm giving that girl a cyber kick up the butt for your dd.

hugoagogo · 14/08/2017 20:45

Jeez the stress, I am sorely tempted to go to bed for until Thursday morning.SadGin

goodbyestranger · 14/08/2017 21:28

DS4 is away again with friends on a beach and not back until Wednesday, then they'll all have a night's kip before D-Day.

Could anyone please link to the grade boundaries article? Or even tell me which paper? I can't find it easily.

GetAHaircutCarl · 15/08/2017 08:47

The IA level results are out so a few of DC's mates already know a grade or two.

Two girls have done much better than expected so that's a lovely comfort as they wait. But a third has done worse than she needs for her offer.

She now has to wait and see if her firm accepts her anyway. What a bloody awful week it must have been!!!

user7841794168 · 15/08/2017 13:45

I think it was the times but I can't be sure now.

user7841794168 · 15/08/2017 13:46

I've just searched online and the DM have an article about it that's not behind a pay wall, I've not read it but if you google A level grade boundaries 2017 it'll be close to the top of the list.

TwitterQueen1 · 15/08/2017 13:56

It's here

user7841794168 · 15/08/2017 14:09

ah, I didn't find that one - thanks. It's listing DS's firm choice uni and course.

moonlight37 · 15/08/2017 14:21

Hi everyone. I'm awaiting results for DD as well. Just found this thread. Are anyones DC applying to Southern Ireland?

Mytimenow · 15/08/2017 15:34

DS1 has enrolled online and accessed his timetable, he's not impressed with some 8am lecture starts and 5pm finishes! (Not on same day) I have warned him that he'll be doing at least that everyday when he becomes a proper grown up and gets a job!

Lindor · 15/08/2017 17:50

Still hanging in there, now counting the hours left. DD is keeping busy, and is off out clubbing tonight - Tuesday is cheap drinks/entry here.
I'm on pick up duty and will go armed with bucket/towel etc.
We are too far out for taxis unless you feel like remortaging.

Hope all is calm in your homes x

user7841794168 · 15/08/2017 18:55

@Lindor - you are a better parent than me, DS paid £20 for a taxi home the other night as I was shattered and was selfishly putting myself first.

Lindor · 15/08/2017 23:18

if it was only £20 I would be happy to pay, more like £40+ to come out to the sticks. Even in daylight hours we have very little useful public transport. If DD gets her uni place I will save so much on petrol!

GetAHaircutCarl · 16/08/2017 18:40

Well here we all are.
Good luck to all our younglings. They've done their best and so have we!!!!

HSMMaCM · 16/08/2017 18:50

DD has said she might let me take her out for brunch after results, depending on what the results are Wink

LittleHo · 16/08/2017 18:59

Yes - here again. Wine

Good luck to everyone.

FreedaDonkey · 16/08/2017 19:28

If anyone is interested, we have a Facebook group for those waiting for results, clearing help etc

https://m.facebook.com/groups/488235648182391

Lots of mums and students who have been through it. Everyone is welcome, and we don't know who anyone is on here so it's not linked!

Good luck everyone Wine

TwitterQueen1 · 16/08/2017 22:19

Moonlight Southern Ireland? There is no such place.
Good luck all.

Lucysky2017 · 16/08/2017 22:24

Good luck tomorrow. I'm going to bed now. Hopefully we willk now by about 8am if the twins have got in.

FreedaDonkey · 16/08/2017 22:29

Good luck to them Lucy, I've NCed but have been following and hope they get their first choice

GetAHaircutCarl · 16/08/2017 22:50

DS has gone out for beers and curry. DD has gone to bed. DH is easily the most nervous in the house.

I am quietly pragmatic.

HSMMaCM · 17/08/2017 01:20

I'm awake! I wanted to be asleep until 7!

Springlambs · 17/08/2017 01:38

I can't sleep either!

user9512736123 · 17/08/2017 01:48

Snap

user9512736123 · 17/08/2017 02:09

Have you all gone to sleep? Lucky things!
